Having listened to several of my friends’ accounts involving their experience with implants and at 82 years of age, I approached Dr. Noroozi at UBC with some degree of trepidation and apprehension about my ability to endure the process especially after learning that I needed 5 of them, a probability of bone grafts and the need to raise the floor of my sinus to make room for the new teeth. So I braced myself and resolved to get through it no matter what. Imagine a relief at discovering that you made, over the following year the entire process seamless, painless and non-threatening as anyone could imagine a job of this magnitude could be. I have told many people that this awesome process can be endured very nicely, when your doctor is like Dr. Noroozi, marvellously well trained, in addition to being sensitive, empathic, aware of feelings, constantly monitoring your response to what is going on and remaining unruffled when you make mistakes with timing or getting the dates of appointments mixed up. This story stands out uniquely in contrast with the treatment my granddaughter went through in Ottawa with her periodontist and I am very quick to point out to anyone who is interested. Do your research when you look for a periodontist, the list of requirements from education, knowledge, an ability to assess who the patient is and what is required overall to make a process as agreeable as possible, is essential.
I am one of the lucky ones Dr. Noroozi and I send you all my wishes for your new practice.
Yours very respectfully
Beverly Hunter
