Excellent, thorough, knowledgeable, intelligent, and compassionate family doctor. I'm surprised by the previous comment about Dr. Dakhel's treatment of anxiety. I had the polar opposite experience. He was incredibly supportive when I came to him with mental health concerns. He helped me with forms to get accomodations at my school, he discussed the effectiveness of various treatments in great detail (and as someone with knowledge in that area, I was happy to see he is very up to date with his education and knowledge, it's not always the case). He was definitely not a pill pusher and emphasized the importance and effectiveness of counseling and therapy (which I respect; he is right about it's effectiveness). He was supportive, understanding, and empathetic.

When it comes to other medical concerns, he has been the most helpful and thorough doctor I have seen in many years. I am healthy and active, but I do have a few things that need addressing and he is on top of everything. He is open to new treatment ideas, and listens to my point of view when it sometimes differs from his. I have also not had a doctor be so thorough before and I feel confident that my health is in good hands.

Appointments are easy to book with very short wait times. The staff at the clinic and helpful and friendly. There is one day a week when the clinic is busy so it can be challenging on that day to find parking. (It was only an issue once for me). I highly recommend Dr. Dakhel if you are looking for a new family doctor.

Dr. Dakhel was kind enough most of the time in comparison to other doctors I have seen but I had to do about 90% of the legwork and he always came back to gaslighting me and blaming my anxiety for my health issues. I had to fight to receive the care I needed and was let down consistently by him and his clinic. Both the psychiatrist and gynecologist were absolutely deplorable as well and he admitted himself he had many issues with the gyno working there and had recieved numerous complaints from other patients. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this clinic and years later I am still trying to recover from the trauma his clinic caused me during a really rough time. I have seen professionals since that have done a much better job but the damage done there caused an already awful set of challenges to completely blow up and the long term effects are still present. I feel he tried his best but is not a very competent, knowledgeable, experienced or helpful doctor by any means. Run of the mill, bottom of the barrel Medi Center Doctor at best.

Dr. Mazen Dakhel is professional family doctor in Edmonton . I have not seen family doctor like him in how to deal with patients and giving enough time to

Have Ménière’s disease and generalized anxiety disorder. He immediately wanted to take me off my medications that kept me healthy and gave me quality of life. Very arrogant and did not want to understand my difficulties or treatment. Demanded that I get a letter from the doctor that prescribed a medication for me before you would even do anything with me. This Dr is not there to understand your health issues. He is more interested in what medications he can take you off of before he even knows why you on them. Stay clear of this guy or he will take your life and turn it upside down for lack of knowledge and experience.

Really cares for his patients. Will sign forms without making people feel bad they need them signed, regardless of financial situation. Probably saved my life by doing so.

I found Dr. Dakhel to be rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. He told me that his job was very different from my job and it would be inappropriate to compare the two. He prescribed me medication that I am allergic to multiple times. He refused to physically examine me or send me for tests. I firmly believe that his arrogance and lack of care made my condition worse.

I have been Dr. Dakel l's patient for more than 5 years and I do not agree on those negative reviews . I feel L'm obligated to defend my doctor :). Dr. Dakel has lots of compassion with a very strong work Ethics. Professionalism and knowledge are his main strength
He is a highly recommended young and updated family doctor!
