I recently had hip replacement surgery and Dr. Russo and his team made the process seamless. After 9 weeks I am back to my regular workout schedule as Dr. Russo and I discussed pre-op (I only wish I had consulted Dr. Russo sooner). I received a total knee replacement from Dr. Matt. The entire experience went very smoothly. The office staff are great as well as the case managing nurse. Dr. Matt was caring and answered all my questions and concerns. He is a skilled surgeon and I highly recommend him.

I have been a patient of Dr. Vincent Russo for almost 20 years and have trusted him with multiple successful surgeries. When it was finally time for me to get a hip replacement, he recommended Dr. Matthew Russo and since I trust Dad with my life, I trusted his son as well.

I can't tell you how fabulous my surgery went. I was in a car accident 40+ years ago and knew one day I would need a new hip. I had hip pain, back pain, and could barely walk. Dr. Russo explained everything so I could understand, made me feel comfortable, no anxiety, and when I had the surgery, I didn't have ANY pain from the replacement. I was walking without assistance by the third day and consider the Russo team my absolute heroes.

Dr Russo takes the time to explain the issue and the surgery, then accomplishes what he says he can do. All I had to do was follow directions. Very quick recovery, and excellent follow-up. Highly recommended and this is not my first hip replacement!!

Dr. Matt performed a total hip replacement on me, and I could not have been more pleased with the result. I am currently in week 7 of recovery, and I am living pain free, whereas prior to surgery I had been experiencing shooting pain in that hip on a daily basis.
I was referred to Dr. Matt by highly respected orthopedic surgeon Dr. Richard Martin, due to the fact that Dr. Martin believed I would benefit from having the procedure performed using anterior approach, which he himself did not do. He felt that Dr. Matt was the best surgeon for my situation, and I am thankful for the referral.
I was most impressed with the way Dr. Matt paid such close attention to every detail throughout the entire process. From the first office visit, all the way through to the final post-surgery follow up, Dr. Matt was extremely attentive and focused on achieving the best result possible. Also, he communicated very clearly and completely, so I would understand all of the components of the process.
For those who are eligible, I would recommend having the procedure done at North Valley Surgical Center, where it can be performed as an outpatient procedure. I had mine done there. I arrived at 7:00 a.m. and was released just before 5:00 p.m. The procedure took a couple hours, the recovery period was as long as the patient needs, but in my case it was about 4-5 hours (mostly sleeping). The staff at North Valley paid close attention to me and showed a high level of professionalism all day long. I was provided with an assistive walker to take home, and was able to ambulate fairly well immediately (albeit slowly for the first couple weeks with the help of pain meds).

Dr. Matt Russo and I are so very pleased with the outcome of my surgery for right hip replacement. He and his staff are professional, efficient and kind. My recuperation was not uncomfortable and I was amazed that I could walk on the same day post-op.

As a retired physical therapist, I found myself on the other side of a walker: needing a total hip replacement. Having just moved to Arizona I did not have professional or personal knowledge of orthopedists in this area. I surfed the internet for orthopedists specializing in THR by anterior approach. Dr. Russo's website answered all my preliminary concerns/questions especially in regards to pain management (his use of ice and anti-inflammatories) and proper fitting of the prosthesis. I underwent THR mid Sept 2018 and at my 2 week post-op visit was 4 weeks ahead of schedule!!! I did not require any narcotics as I had no pain. I utilized an ice machine and Celebrex. I couldn't be more pleased with my outcome and the care I received from Dr. Russo and his staff. The Pulse App was a wonderful post-op tool.

I needed a revision of a 16 year old knee replacement that had 4 prior surgeries. He diagnosed the problem and was successful in correcting the problem. I am delighted with my recovery time and am back to most of my daily activities. I would highly recommend him for orthopedic knee surgery.

Recently had a full hip replacement by Dr. Matt Russo. The procedure was a great success. The pain was minimal and the recovery period was swift. I was back to work in two weeks after surgery. Preparation and detailed instructions were very thorough. I would highly recommend anyone needing a hip replacement to visit with Dr. Matt Russo prior to any final decision for the procedure. I visited with multiple Orthopedic Surgeons prior to my surgery and I now know how fortunate I was to have made the right decision in choosing Dr. Matt Russo for my hip replacement.

Words can not adequately express my appreciation for Dr. Matthew Russo who performed my
hip replacement surgery this past August 27. Besides obvious surgical skills he has a most congenial bedside manner. By the second week I was already walking quite satisfactorily without the need for a walker. He is my go-to physician should I ever require additional hip and/or knee surgery!
