As corrupt as they come. Flabbergasted this person is allowed to practice. It’s hard to fathom the number of people he has hurt over the years.

This man should lose his license. Unethical, unprofessional, and causing active harm with some of his recommendations. It became very clear in a short amount of time that he is a hack that lawyers use when they need the court to hear a certain perspective that will make their client appear a certain way.

Please stay away from this man! He has a ton of rewards but he is slimy. He is all about collecting the money and harming families. I ended up wining in my case, however because I would disagree with Kopit he would tell my lawyer I wasn't being cooperative. YOU are right I am not agreeing to my dauhter going back to her dads after he beat the s out of her!!!! He is easily bought and regardless of you are the party or opposition, this man is criminal and needs shut down!!!!

A close friend of mine had to have him as the CFI, twice. Side note and more of a vent: the judge (I do not know her name) literally said no to using a different CFI the second time this was requested by the mother. Asinine!!!! I did not see these reviews before, but my friend has since revealed the 4.5 stars the CFI he desired for the second round has received in google reviews. What?! What does this say about the judge? Anyway, Lon successfully pushed to have two young children interviewed, which in my opinion is definitely not in the best interest of the kids, but was actually harmful to them on many levels. My friend told me multiple stories of this man and his time with his kids when they did supervised visits. Lon would watch the kids through a one-way mirror and told my friend he had to pick up his phone and follow his orders precisely or else he would put negative comments in the report about him as a father. Lon would call and tell him to end a game, midway through, without reason, not allow the father to tell his children why, etc., etc. etc. Lon's CFI recommendation was WAY OFF. I have spent over a hundred hours with this father and his children (I live with him) and he is an excellent father. Yet, Lon's professional opinion was that the father has to go back to supervised visits, etc. So sad and WRONG! Please, please stay away from this person as a CFI. He has supported wickedness in keeping two young children from their father. Undoubtedly, the opposing lawyer knows Lon and chose him on purpose. Look at the rest of these reviews. Who in their right mind would choose this man with all of the negative reviews besides a wicked lawyer who knows how to work the system. I just read another review and it was spot on from my experience, "...He has a bias toward women as primary parent, and is easily swayed by the women...." The mother's lawyer is a woman. As well, Lon ignored SO MUCH evidence the father put forward regarding the wonderful times he had with his children. He went so far as to actually say, in court, that the 50+ pictures (riding bikes, playing with remote controlled cars, playing at a river, making dinners, etc., etc., etc.) the father produced showing the great times the kids were having could have just been the father making the kids smile. I could go on and on, but you get the point. HE DOES NOT HAVE THE KIDS BEST INTEREST IN MIND!!!! I sincerely hope this man gets the help he needs to become an objective reporter. Lon, if you are reading this, get some help. You really need it and need to better understand the harm you are propagating in your biases. Wake up!!!

Waste of time, money, and emotion. He was assigned to our case, and did not connect any of the dots. He just simply checked boxes of attending appointments, and paid no attention to what happened, or to our many witnesses, or collaterals that were presented. I completely wish I could have seen these reviews, before putting so much trust into him. I hope that the judges realize he puts no effort into his work, and that is harmful and risky to so many families. RUN- the other direction. Anyone would do a better job.

Dr. Lon Kopit contributed to my son Tiberius Tesoriero's murder in 2019, after being Ty's therapist for over 2 years, and Ty's murderer's therapist prior to that for over a year. He did not have adequate knowledge about domestic violence or any child psychology, to be able to identify a typical narcissistic personality. He believed all the lies from my ex-husband and his wife during their therapy sessions and was unable to identify a traumatized child that was being pressured in a child abuse situation. Dr. Kopit testified to the court praised my ex-husband for being a good father, and Ty was making progress. Then there it was a murder-suicide case. He was the therapist for both of the involved parties and failed to identify anything. He was incompetent, although he had bragged about his experience with me. He played a two-faced person in front of me and my ex-husband, to be the "nice guy" and not to get himself in trouble in front of neither of us.

I am sorry that the court ever appointed him to be Ty's therapist. Without him, I think anyone else , who had a gut, would have reported to the authorities of the true face of my ex's psychological abuse to Ty.

I was a kid in a court-ordered CFI and he DITCHED COURT TO GO SKIING. Because he didn't testify to the abuse I was suffering, I had to go back to abusive parents. This result continues to screw me over as I get older and my life would have been so much better if this man just showed up to court.

Dr. Kopit was assigned to our case. I am a victim of domestic Violence and gave him pages and pages of evidence. This evidence didn't include what he saw during the all day session my ex and I had. Where my ex blamed me and called me names. Non of this mattered to Dr. Kopit. He was assigned to decide where my child should live and which state he should live in. He based his decison on what I potentially would have done if things were to go a certain way instead of making the choice from the point of actual relocation. Which is what he was assigned to do. I would never recommend this person for anything professional.
