Started off well at first appointment. Was thinking I'd have regular follow ups and possibly some EMDR sessions. Instead just prescribed drugs and never saw her again over two and a half years. It once took me 6 months to get an appointment with her
Multiple times now it's taken me weeks of messaging her to get my scripts filled. Last time it pushed me right to the edge, I almost went psychotic just a trying to get a new script. She blatantly lied to both myself and the pharmacist multiple times about my script
This woman should not be allowed to practice. She's terribly irresponsible and it makes me wonder if there's been other patients who have actually suicided because they've run out of meds. She's clearly not focused on long term treatment of her patients. I've never met a drug dealer more irresponsible than this woman

Very unprofessional organisation. Had appointment cancelled and told that they would rebook appointment ASAP after a month of no response I gave up. After reading other reviews that had similar experiences I worked out she is a scammer. Just in it for the money with redicules pricing. I recommend finding someone else to help you not just a money scam.

Dr Martin is a warm and friendly and skilled clinician but she unfortunately cannot be relied upon to show up to the appointments you’ve booked and that’s a very unsafe thing to do to clients. Twice in a row she has failed to attend my appointments when I needed help with medication. No explanation from office staff or replies to my emails. Waited four hours for my Telehealth appointment and she never showed up. Waited another time all day and no response to my calls. I have no faith in a psychiatrist who can’t even communicate and leaves you hanging. Completely unsafe.

Dr Martin ran 40 minutes late for my appointment. She is decent at what she does. The Office manager did try to hurry her up a couple of times as I was in touch with him. He was just as disappointed as I was how late she was. However, she is very good at doing what she does.

What a shame I couldn't rate this 0 stars. Initial consult with Dr Martin - fantastic! Very thorough, knowledgeable, kind, enthusiastic. I was hopeful I could get the help I needed. I was diagnosed, medicated then assured I would redirect a follow-up appointment 2 weeks post consult. 2 weeks passes, no contact. Hospitalised 2.5weeks post consult. I've the next 4 weeks I.. - Tried to contact Dr. Martin by phone to request urgent follow-up. No reply.
- Emailed Dr directly, no reply in return.
- Rang Dr's mobile she provided and left a voicemail requesting urgency. No reply
- Text Dr's mobile expressing urgency. No reply
- Nearly a month later, finally got someone to take a message and send onto Dr Martin. No reply
- Weeks later, rang 'office' number again. Left a message once again expressing urgency. Told the 'receptionist' my reason as to my urgency as it seemed my messages were not coming across as urgent enough only to be told that this 'office' number is in fact only an external messaging service.

My doctor recommended I give this Psychologist more time in making contact as it is very difficult to find a Dr who can diagnose as well as medicate and I would likely need to wait another 6+ months to see someone new.

Dr Martin also opened up a can of worms regarding my past which I had unknowingly suppressed. I understand this is what her role as a psychologist does however, the treatment to her patients after their initial consult is dangerous and I'm surprised she is still operating. I now hear from friends and online reviews that what I am going through with her is quite common.
I would highly suggest you don't bother with this clinic or Dr and find someone else, even if you have to wait longer.

Disappointed is an understatement.

Fantastic psychiatrist, horrible office manager.
I'm sorry I have to say this as Dr Martin is a caring, genuine person as well as a knowledgeable specialist, but the office manager is unprofessional and incapable of communicating with you properly.
Constantly being ghosted and having to chase them up for follow up consults is incredibly taxing for those who need mental health help in the first place.
You feel like you have to do his job for him sometimes as he barely replies to anything and doesn't seem knowledgeable about the processes he sends you in the initial email.
When he finally does reply, it is often unprofessional.

If I had to rate the first initial consult minus dealing with the admin side it would be 5/5. But follow up consults are almost always necessary and the admin processes & experiences are so bad that I sadly cannot recommend this Dr.

I’m afraid I have to agree with the last reviewer
I was very hopeful after our initial consultation but was over medicated as well
I eventually had to see my local gp to get any help
I was ‘ghosted’ and too many times I was left waiting for my consult that never eventuated and never advised if and when I would speak to the doctor
I would phone, text and email and would get no response, feeling very depressed and anxious
The office manager is useless, in fact a hindrance

Very knowledgeable, however been left in the dark more times than I can count, over prescribed causing hospital admission for a mental health break which she nor her unprofessional admin officer addressed or followed up on.

Dr Martin is a down to earth, caring clinician. I know not only I but many other Cairns locals had lost faith in the medical profession. The dismissive and patronising tone used by some medical specialists is disempowering and damaging. I found Dr Martin when I had nearly given up. Dr Martin was approachable and welcomed my questions.I left feeling I had regained some control and able to make informed decisions around treating and maintaining my mental health.

A really excellent doctor, open minded and exceptionally approachable. I won’t see anyone else.
