Dr Lakmali helped our son with a very challenging time with anxiety and other issues after COVID which led him to rarely attending school for over 12 months. Her understanding, empathy and treatment including medication ensured he was able to return to full time study. Thanks Dr Lakmali his mental health improved so much over the next 18 months that at the age of 15 he was able to live In Spain, without family, pursuing his dream to become a professional footballer.

Dr. Lakmali Endirimanne is a compassionate, personable and extremely knowledgeable Psychiatrist, who excels in complex situations. She has, and continues to support our daughter and our family unit wholeheartedly. We first met Dr Lakmali Edirimanne after a recommendation from our daughter’s Clinical Psychologist, for the treatment of major depressive disorder and generalised anxiety disorder. It was during her treatment that we received a further diagnosis of ADHD.
This period was an extremely difficult time for my daughter, she felt as though her situation was hopeless and that she would never be the person she once was. All the while desperately trying to prepare and perform for HSC examinations.

It was a result of Dr Lakmali’s unwavering support, commitment and dedication to our daughter’s care and treatment that greatly assisted in her recovery and acceptance of her condition. Providing her with the tools to not only get though the HSC but to embrace her gorgeous self and thrive in the years that followed.
Some time later we sort further assistance from Dr Lakmali for our youngest daughter diagnosed as neurodivergent, autism and ADHD. Dr Lakmali has helped our daughter understand her unique self and how to embrace and channel her strengths to be more resilient and confident about her path and future.
Our family could not be more thankful and appreciative for the utmost professional treatment, support and care Dr Lakmali has provided us in getting through some of our most challenging and difficult moments.

dr lakmali has been treating my youngest daughter for few years now with her anxiety,ocd, adhd and autism. my daughter has gone from a very anxious depressed,fragile,no confidence girl, to a confident,happy,,positive girl.

Dr Lakmali Edirimanne has been a panacea for our family’s collective neurodivergence! She helped us so respectfully in our role as parents, while her warmth instantly disarmed our teens, and helped them see hope - knowing they were in a safe and understanding place, with someone who even championed their differences. Our young adults are now thriving, and we are so thankful to Lakmali for her robust support over the years.

I tell everyone Dr Lakmali changed our life. I knew things weren’t right with our daughter for some time and after a scary incident we felt like we won the lottery after our referral- which was during COVID when doctors were hard to see. The immediate acknowledgment and insight finally made everything make sense. Since then the support team Lakmali brought together has ensured our daughter is getting the help she needs as she needs it. More than anything else Lakmali makes her patients feel heard and supported. She explains everything in a direct way that makes her patients feel informed, cared for and understood, I cannot recommend a doctor more highly.

When we first saw Dr Edirimanne (Lakmali) my daughter and I were desperate for my daughter's quality of life to improve. For a year my 15 year old daughter had been severely depressed, withdrawn and suicidal. Her previous psychiatrist had made no difference. She had been previously diagnosed with CPTSD, major depression, GAD and social anxiety. Autism and ADHD had never been suggested to us before.

Lakmali encouraged my daughter to get tested. My daughter found the diagnosis extremely helpful and it opened up new ways for me to support my daughter which have really helped. Lakmali designed a long term plan to safely introduce alternative medication to treat anxiety and cptsd and then ADHD. Gradually my daughter's level of anxiety reduced. Lakmali then introduced Concerta and this was a game changer. As a mother, I got back the daughter who seemed lost to me for a year. I am so grateful that my daughter received the quality of psychiatry she deserved , and in a respectful and empowering manner. Clients are in safe and expert hands when they see Dr Edirimanne.

Dr Edirimanne (Lakmali) has treated 2 young people (aged 14-24) who are my children, and who I cared for. Lakmali develops trusting relationships with the young people and their carer (me) through excellent and appropriate communication. This includes thorough understanding and examination of complex medical issues and ongoing follow up care.

In our experience, Lakmali has a thorough understanding of not only psychiatric conditions but also their interaction with physical health and neurodivergence such as autism and ADHD, as well as neurological conditions such as epilepsy and consequent metabolic and physical health requirements of the individual, including 'school refusal' and managing daily living.

Lakmali's excellent, inclusion and compassionate professional care is in contrast to treatment received from a number of previous psychiatrists. I cannot recommend Lakmali's practice and care highly enough. Thank you for changing the life and future of our family, we are so grateful we found you, Lakmali.

Dr. Lakmali has been my psychiatrist for over two years now, and in that time has changed my life in such a positive way. She has been so clear in explaining how my ADHD and mental health issues affect my education and everyday life, and has helped me to succeed in spite of them. She has always gone above and beyond to ensure my health and safety, and to make sure that I have every opportunity to reach my potential.

She has worked with my school, caseworker, and other healthcare professionals to provide me with a strong wrap around support system. I feel genuinely cared for and supported in all aspects of my life, and it is thanks to Dr. Lakmali's dedication to my progress and improvement. Professional, caring and highly skilled at diagnosing, treating and coaching.
Dr Lakmali has been a gift to our daughters well being and changed our lives as a family as a result. Lakmali’s strengths include really listening, and fully understanding each child’s needs, then explaining in meaningful language what is going on and why.
Lakmalis treatment and ongoing care for our daughters is second to none. She pinpoints effective treatments, environmental aspects and advice, medications etc and has never been wrong, she has an amazing knack of knowing what our children need at all times, and throughout she celebrates their wins and encouraged us as parents to keep going even through some very dark times. She has educated us on mental health and neurodiversity and we can see the world differently and now confidently know how to best support our daughters in many aspects of their lives. As a result our daughters are both thriving and are happy and well and I know this would not be the case without Lakmalis expertise and treatment. She’s warm hearted, incredibly human and her face lights up when she sees my girls even on a zoom call - I can tell she 100% cares about her patients and their families.
