It pains me to have a negative experience within the healthcare system I myself am employed. I was initially seen at IU Health Physicians Glendale by a different doctor, after utilizing their online scheduling system and after much research. I arrived on time after receiving confirmation of the appointment and was told I would have to reschedule with Dr. Yang as she was the only doctor accepting new patients, for 8 weeks in the future. After MUCH difficulty, I was "allowed" to see Dr. Bruns the first time I visited this practice.

Both times I visited, I was treated rudely by the administrative staff, especially the lady checking me out. I am also extremely disappointed in the lady who admitted she was responsible for letting my initial appointment go through to the point that I took off work and CAME TO THE APPOINTMENT, only to be forced to reschedule with a stranger.

As for Dr. Yang herself, she was timely and kind. Other than that, I felt an extreme lack of understanding between us. She had that 'WILL NOT prescribe you medication that has helped you for years because I think it's bad for you' attitude.

I can't sleep, and only one thing helps me. Yes, it may be habit-forming, but that is better than having the habit of only get a few hours of sleep before working a 12-hour shift involved in direct patient care. I had so much trouble sleeping before starting the medication she tried to deny me that I almost wrecked my car a few months ago.

The medication that helped me was prescribed by her colleague at the practice and had been previously prescribed to me for years by my doctor in Chicago. Upon first meeting me, she told me it was not acceptable for long-term use, and is the first doctor who has said this to me. She tried to talk to me about taking anti-depressants instead. I am NOT DEPRESSED; I am quite content, except when I cannot sleep. I refused of course.

In the end, she agreed to prescribe the medication again but at half the dose with the goal that I would stop taking it. She wants me to follow up in 3 months but only prescribed me 2 months of medication, at half the dose.

I WON'T BE BACK AT ALL, so no worries.
