Biography
Davinder was born and raised in the Southern Okanagan in Oliver, BC. Dr. Sidhu obtained his Doctor of Optometry with the distinction of clinical and high academic honors from Salus University in 2015. During his time in Pennsylvania, Davinder served as the class liaison for the Neuro-optometric Rehabilitation Association. His interest in health care began early on in his undergraduate career at UBC Okanagan, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. During his external rotations, Davinder acquired experience at various clinics throughout the United States. In addition to primary eyecare, Davinder had extensive exposure to ocular disease, surgical co-management and contact lenses. He also had the pleasure of spending three months in the Neuro-ophthalmology department at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA which focuses on lab testing, neuro-imaging and managing a variety of neuro-ophthalmic cases. Overall, Davinder brings a well-rounded optometric background to our team as he is well versed in the following: contact lenses; pre- an post-operative care of ocular conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, retina and laser eye surgery; ocular emergencies; glaucoma; keratoconus; dry eyes; diabetic retinopathy; macular degeneration and a host of other ocular conditions. Davinder’s passion for optometry continues to grow, as he likes to keep up to date with new research and technology. In his spare time, Davinder likes to go hiking, play sports, cheer on the Vancouver Canucks, and spend time with family and friends
