Fantastic experience! Dr McInnes was attentive and listen to what I was looking for and did his best to achieve it. I had consultations at other cosmetic surgery facilities and felt that they wanted a certain "look" for their business and were uninterested in what my goals were because it wasn't what they had in mind. Dr McInnis listened to what I wanted and what my goals were and I'm extremely happy with my results.
Very knowledgeable and personable.

DO NOT GO TO THIS GUY!!!! I have worked with doctors for decades (in a hospital setting) I am a well educated woman with a B.A, B.S.W. and Masters degree in Clinical Social Work. As part of my job as a social worker I used to do workshops for medical student interns on good and respectful etiquette with patients. Dr. McInnes is one of the rudest doctors I've ever met and believe me I've met many in my work. I went to see him about pain in my upper shoulders. I told him I am retired and on a limited income. Due to my shoulder pain I am eligible for a breast reduction covered by M.S.P. He immediately mocked me and said "Oh your breasts are not heavy", "If some of my patients had your breasts they would be happy". Rule no. 1 every patient is unique with a unique problem. Basic doctoring 101. Then he proceeded to tweak my breast and fold it under itself multiple times (very uncomfortable, and very humiliating.) When I asked him if I would be covered by MSP he proceeded to tell me that yes, I did qualify due to shoulder pain but that he would have to remove most of my breasts. From a D cup to a small B. I was shocked. I said well I don't want that. So then came the sales pitch to upsell me a breast lift. I'm reasonably polite (he isn't) so I listened to his upsell pitch, and he walked out of the room. I never once told him I was interested in his $11,000 breast lift. I got a quote the next day for $11,000. I called his office he later returned my call about 2 hours after the pre determined appointment time. He said to me over the phone again that he would have to remove most of my breast volume. I told him that I never wanted that nor did I ever tell him I was interested in his breast life at $11,000. This was all in spite of me telling him I'm retired and could not afford an expensive surgery. Clearly the guy does not listen to anything but his own voice. Over the phone he said to me, (and I'm quoting verbatim) "Oh you were interested in the breast life until you found out what it would cost". Again humiliating. I told him that was not true but he talked over me. I said well you just do not want to do the surgery covered by MSP (he likely does not make nearly as much as he would with a private surgery). He then said something to the affect that I "wanted a free surgery". I could not believe my ears and how incredibly arrogant and rude he was to me. He said "fine we can talk about it again, come into his office. " I emailed his office assistant later that day and cancelled the appointment.
If you want to be embarrassed, humiliated and treated like a dollar sign, see him. Otherwise stay away

I couldn’t disagree with all aspect of your review more, and your review is a true validation of my concerns with you. Nobody mocked you, or did anything inappropriate in your exam. With my nurse in the room we showed you the difference between a breast lift and a reduction. I also did offer you a MSP covered reduction, but informed you that we need to take out actual weight and not just remove skin to help with your shoulder pain. As I explained to you, removing the skin (a lift) will shrink the breast, but with a MSP breast reduction I need to take out actual breast tissue, not just skin. I booked about 6 MSP covered breast reductions that office day, all while explaining the difference between a lift and a reduction the same way. With your specific aesthetic goals (lifted breast with minimal tissue removal), you were not a candidate for an MSP covered procedure.

I had an excellent surgical experience with Dr. McInnes. The results of my procedure exceeded my expectations aesthetically and healed incredibly well. I was well informed, comfortable, and pain-free throughout my entire hospital stay. I cannot recommend Dr. McInnes highly enough.

I met Dr.McInnes through my family doctor presenting a difficult case of breast asymmetry. Dr.McInnes and his team were vey helpful and patient with my case. He is a great listener and helped me through the surgery every step of the way with regular checkups. My two surgeries went has smooth as possible without complications and I am extremely happy with the results. I am very glad to visit Dr.McInnes for my condition and I highly recommend him.

Dr. McInnes is fabulous surgeon. Just a little too casual in his bedside manner. I understand he is busy but it comes across as not really interested in the patient. Also disappointed that when we arrived for the appointment he wasn't even there yet and when he arrived he was not organized and ready for the appointment which had us waiting unnecessarily. Again GREAT surgeon.

Thank you for your feedback, this brings up some valuable discussion points. Unlike my private aesthetic practice, for reconstructive patients requiring in-hospital clinical care, I have much less control over the different variables, including how many patients I see, how much help I get (staff calling in sick), and how much time I have to see them in. Your comment suggests I’m starting late, however, there is a difference between running late, and starting my day late. What you wouldn’t see, is that before coming over to the hospital to start my 3 hour afternoon clinic, I’ve already been working all morning. If I arrive late for my afternoon clinic, it simply means I’m running behind 15-30 minutes (is that uncommon for a surgeon?), and coming over to the hospital with no break to minimize wait times. Nobody’s time is taken for granted. I do need to login to the computer before I start, which is the only “getting ready” I ever do at the clinic. Patients requiring complex reconstructive surgery, including curative cancer surgery, are seen in hospital as they benefit from nursing and/or allied health assistance, which provides them with better overall care, even if the wait is a little longer. There is nothing casual about their surgery, and depending on the complexity, it is often further planned behind the scenes in the evening hours. Of note, I have a fixed 3 hours of hospital clinic time with nursing assistance each week. If 20 people get injured or have urgent cancers, I can take my time to see and treat everyone, much like the pace in my private office. Conversely, if 50 patients get injured over a weekend where I am on call (it happens), I still have just 3 hours to see and treat them before sometimes finishing off my clinic alone with no nurses. Busier trauma/urgent cancer volumes mean patient interactions must occur a bit more quickly out of necessity otherwise everyone has to wait longer. When this occurs, it is not out of disinterest in them personally or their condition. I can assure you that our division has put in many hours to try and recruit more help for our hospital clinic patients, but it is a slow process with many challenges.

Highly recommended! Excellent doctor, overall experience and results. Dr. McInnes thoroughly reviewed and discussed several options with me. I am very happy with the results of the scar revision procedure he did on my nose. His clinical office assistants are also very friendly and helpful. The surgery centre facility and nurses were great.

I have nothing short of amazing things to say about Dr McInnes! He is truly great at what he does. I knew from the moment walking into my consult and seeing his countless certificates on the walls, that I was in good hands. Dr McInnes did a breast reduction for me in October 2022, and I am so happy to this day! My self confidence has grown so much after this procedure. He listened to everything I wanted and went above and beyond. His admin assistant Tammy was as extremely patient and so kind with me with my endless emails and phone calls and answered all of my questions. I will forever refer him to anyone looking for a procedure like I got. You and your staff are amazing!!!! Keep up the good work!!

I have been fortunate enough to have Dr. McInnes on my last 2 complex nerve related surgeries (Ulner Nerve Transposition & Assist on a TOS surgery) . These 2 surgeries, without a doubt have changed my life for the better. Dr. McInnes always takes the time to answer questions, listen to concerns and address them in a timely matter. He is compassionate, throughout and honest. Dr. McInnes also has excellent office staff who assist with bookings, questions and all was done in a timely matter. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a plastic surgeon to head to see Dr. McInnes.

Dr. Colin McInnes did an amazing job with my recent ear reconstructive surgery and removed the keloid that keeps on growing. The surgery area is not noticeable, you can’t tell that I had one. I highly recommend Dr. Colin, he’s an expert with his specialization.
