Dr. McKenna is an excellent doctor. A caring human being who is very knowledgeable with any questions you ask him.
I highly recommend him to all my friends. I traveled 30 minutes to see him and never regretted one minute. Arlene was very sweet and a nice addition to the doctor.

Wow…the patient who loved Dr McKenna and trusted him for 27 years was upset because he took the time and interest to address a major threat to her future such as obesity. Sounds like he was very empathetic and shared his similar struggle. Sharing some things that helped him…he is very concerned about his patients and there are some who get blinded by their own lack of effort or concern for their own issue. What a sad reaction.

I have been a patient of Dr McKenna for about 27 years. He delivered both my children. He was awesome, my husband loved him as well. Now that I am post menopausal he really lost his compassion, He spent too much time on weight loss tips. I realize he has lost weight, He brags that he weighed 350 pounds and had managed to lose a substantial amount of weight. His weight loss appears to equal the amount of a normal size adult man. He still appears to be obese. He needs to stay on topic. Please stop giving weight loss advice. He made ethic generalizations that were disgraceful. Every office visit all he talks about is Costco wild caught salmon. He must have stock in it. I wish him well in his new location.

Sometimes when a patient refuses to accept that their symptoms are self imposed by stress or poor lifestyle choices, they seek an esoteric answer and they are often told they have an "autoimmune" reason for their symptoms.... many people have 1 or 2blood tests that suggest an autoimmune condition but often these are background findings that do not correlate to their symptoms....patients need to be careful drawing conclusions from such results
