Paid $200 for a consultation for nothing. I was excited to go for a consultation, I heard great reviews about the doctor. However after sitting there waiting for the doctor, he showed up and in less than 5 min. determined I was not a candidate for plastic surgery. I was not examined or even looked at in the slightest. If you want my opinion, go to a doctor who cares about you to take the time to listen to you and properly examine you before making any determinations about plastic surgery. Thank goodness I got a 2nd opinion at Hillcrest Plastic Surgery and their consultation was free.

Dr. Armando Soto's response
I'm sorry anyone was not pleased with their experience. On the other hand, it is difficult to feel responsible for this, given the extensive efforts we make to help patients avoid wasting their time (or ours).

Every single time a patient contacts my office, whether by phone or email, they are informed that if their body mass index (the standard for determining obesity and safety in medicine) is above 30, they will not be considered a candidate for elective surgery and that a consultation would be a waste of their time and money. In almost all cases, patients who need to lose weight before considering their desired body improvements are very appreciative and call us back when they have achieved a BMI below 30 (as recommended by our professional associations for the safe performance of elective cosmetic surgery). Thankfully it is rare- but we do occasionally have someone be dishonest with our staff about their current weight in order to get on my schedule. When this happens, we do have to explain at their consultation that they are not a safe candidate for surgery and offer helpful tips or assistance with weight loss. Our goal is, and has always been, to provide all of our patients with the very best outcomes possible, in the very safest manner possible. This means the patient sometimes has to participate in the preparation for surgery by losing weight. And while I will remain committed to maintaining these very high standards of safety in my own practice, it is true that not all other offices do. They are recommendations- not requirements. Further, these are not facts (a patient's weight or BMI, or the effect of obesity on the safety of elective surgery) which would be materially affected by performing any particular examination technique. So- if this is from a real patient, I am sorry if anyone was not pleased... But please know that with a BMI of 30 or greater, patients are definitely taking more risks with their safety and lowering their chances of being happy with their outcome. It is always best to be honest in all communications with doctors and their office staff.

Several people encouraged me to speak up about my experience with Soto. First, do not choose your doctor based on geographical location. My gut said to go to Dr. Hartog, but I live right near Soto, so I made the biggest financial, emotional, and physical mistake of my life, and had Soto do a lift and implants. It was an absolute nightmare from day one. As you can see from his own responses to the negative reviews, he's sarcastic, defensive, and insulting. The procedure that I received from him, is an ordinary plastic surgery procedure, performed everyday. How on earth he destroyed my body the way he did, remains a mystery, even to the next doctor who saw me and had to redo everything a year later. It's true, as stated in another review, that he has no revision policy, and he is very cold and defensive when you approach him in a "how do we fix this?" kind of way. The one thing that's good, is he really is his own worst enemy, with his mouth. He actually tried to sue an EX-patient. Who does that? An egomaniacal idiot, that's who! By the way, it's totally legal to record your own doctor appointments. Voice Record Pro is a wonderful app.

My recent mammogram showed leakage around my 45 year old implants. There was also severe hardened scar tissue surrounding them. I did an internet search and found Dr. Armando Soto’s site. He had the absolute best ratings! I will tell you he and his staff are super and deserve every star. Dr. Soto performed removal of old implants, cleanup of scar tissue, and then replacement with new implants.
He and his staff are patient, understanding, reassuring, and caring. They answered every call text and question I had. I And my husband feel truly blessed to have been guided through my searching to have found Dr. Armando Soto. I would give them more stars if I could!!!!!

Wonderful experience from booking my appointments, first consultation, pre-op, surgery day, post-op, and follow-up appointments. All of the ladies in the office are wonderful. Dr. Soto was so nice and made me feel very comfortable discussing all of my questions and concerns. I also really liked having their app that I could ask questions and would always get a quick reply from the nurses. The entire office truly cares about you. I would highly recommend (and already have) and would trust Dr. Soto and staff with any other surgeries I may have in the future! I am so happy with my results!

I couldn’t be happier with not only my results but they way I was taken care of by Dr. Soto and his staff. I searched for months for a plastic surgeon. After finding Dr. Soto I knew he was the right one. I drive 3 hours round trip to see Dr. Soto and I wouldn’t have picked anyone else. I have had 2 surgeries by him and both were a complete success with great results. They answered all my questions, took the time to take my numerous phone calls and emails and never made me feel like I was bothering them. I followed their Pre and post-op instructions and have had no complications. Their night nurse is amazing and so caring. I truly feel like they I am family. I would recommend Dr. Soto for all your needs.
