Whatever you do don’t go to this practice. The lack of empathy is incredible. Treatment was unprofessional

Dr Ekblad and his staff of social workers are absolutely terrible. The worst service received in several years. After years of making progress, the therapy and treatment from his staff actually resulted in a major regression. My advice is to avoid the clinic and find someone else who is actually empathetic and caring.

Dr. Ekblad is the most compassionate, caring, knowledgeable mental health professional I have ever met. Because of him, I regained my life. He gave hope when others said I would never overcome severe complex PTSD, along with other issues caused by PTSD. I am alive, well, and living a wonderful life. Thank you Dr. Ekblad

Dr Ekblad was incredibly sexist and didn’t want to listen to me about my experiences. Without having been there or even having heard the whole story, he placed the responsibility on me as the victim for the assault that took place against me. I will not be returning. If you are a woman, do not waste your money here.

I too rarely leave reviews. But my experience with Dr Ekblad was so problematic, I want to warn anyone else who is considering paying him a lot of money in hopes that he will actually help you.
As others have said, unless you are sure you have BPD (because if you don't, he'll tell you that you do) go elsewhere or just keep suffering.
He'll say anything to keep taking your money. And ingratiating himself as an "expert" gives him the power to do it, while the patient is completely powerless.
He administered a so-called treatment that was completely inappropriate to my condition and circumstances. I was uneducated and very vulnerable. He saw this and used it to his advantage.
Do not fall for this fast talking, self-interested scammer.
He charges full pop when he is late but stops communicating and writes the bill exactly on the end time, no matter when he began.

I don't normally leave reviews for doctors but agree to so many things others have said. First off, the waiting room is terrible. I hated being able to hear addresses and phone numbers of other people who went there and I didn't like how other people could hear the things I said to his receptionist about my address and everything. Also sometimes I didn't want to talk to her when I was waiting to be seen but since she was sitting right there in front of you it was kind of expected. I really felt the waiting room didn't have privacy - isn't that something we're supposed to have? Dr. Ekblad was usually late to see me but would still end on time. I used to time the sessions and they were always around 45 minutes instead of the 50 minutes he said we get. I agree with everyone else who said he accused them of being willful. He is arrogant and judgmental and it really seemed like I was wasting his time and he didn't want to work with me. He kept reminding me how he is the expert and how he knows so much. Half the time I think he didn't believe me. I agree that his skill set seems very limited and if you don't fall perfectly into some kind of disorder then he doesn't know what to do. But I'm not sure he knows what to do except do DBT with people no matter what the issue might be. If you just have one diagnosis then you're probably fine to work with him but if your issue is more complex then I don't think he is the right doctor. I found a new doctor and it's so much better now. I now feel like I'm being listened to and being taken seriously and with respect.

When I had difficulties remembering what had happened at a certain very-stressful point in the previously week, he told me that unless a neuropsychological assessment demonstrates that I have a memory impairment, he had to assume that I was just being willful and choosing not to talk to him about it. This was harmful. I went to someone else, who diagnosed a dissociative disorder (a trauma-related disorder where this memory impairment is fairly typical); this new understanding of what was happening to me has been incredibly valuable in my healing. For someone who claims to have specialized skills in working with trauma, I am absolutely shocked that Dr. Ekblad did not pick up on the classic symptoms of a disorder so tightly linked to trauma.
