Dr. Smith was supposed to see me for 1 hour. She was with me for approx. 10 minutes. She was SOOO rude and dismissive. I went to her for help with fibromyalgia and she told me that myself and my doctor were wasting the depts time because I had been to see the other rheumatologists who did not help me. I was desperate and she was invalidating, rude, and unknowledgeable, basically negligent, in my opinion. I have contemplated filing a report. As a result, I was suicidal because I had put all of my hope in her. The good news is that I found a doctor in California who actually was able to help me immensely. She is a terrible doctor and person!! NO bedside manner or empathy!! Unacceptable!! Her secretary was sweet though.

Dr. Smith listens and asks questions. She is thorough and wants to help while sorting through the noise. She is knowledgable and never wants to jump to conclusions. The follow ups are great and you couldn't ask for a better assistant than Denise. They care.

Although Dr Smith has been on 2 maternity leaves since becoming my sons rheumatologist, Her secretary Denise has been very helpful in keeping us informed and answering questions . When my son aged out of the IWK he was referred to Dr .Smith . She saw him at his absolute worst and she quickly yet cautiously started him on a new medication . She has been extremely cautious during Covid and she always ensures that he sees the entire team during his checkups , physiotherapist, occupational therapists , we couldn’t ask for better care . We find her extremely professional.

Rude, condescending and arrogant! I’m sorry I wasted my time waiting for an appointment with Dr. Smith only to be treated like I was unimportant and unworthy of her attention!

I can't possibly say enough here to show my appreciation to Dr. Smith. Alexa has been there from the start of my PA diagnosis and she has been nothing but awesome. She's gone above and beyond to help me and I love her for it. I also love her assistant Denise, because it's impossible not to :)

Perhaps Dr. Smith is good if the patient has already been diagnosed... I’m just guessing because she was anything but good when I saw her. She seemed really annoyed that she had to take time to answer any of my questions. I went to Dr. Smith because I was really frightened for my health and trying to understand what’s going on; certainly not to bother her or waste her time although that’s how I was made to feel - very disheartening!!

VERY thorough! If my blood work was off by just a bit, I’d get a call from her office checking on me, making plans for next steps, etc. Her Administrative Assistant (Denise) is so sweet and helpful, too. Great doctor, great staff!

I had a similar experience with this doctor. Dr. Smith seemed cold like she could have cared less that I’m in pain. I also found her to be very rude. Unacceptable behaviour when all I wanted was to try and get help!
