    Hello Dr. Bercovici,

Seeing that you've kindly answered so many questions on webMD, I'm desperately hoping you might be able to help me as I've run out of medical options.

I'm a 31 years old who's developed constant bilateral, extremely loud, high pitch tinnitus three months ago that's progressively getting worse. This was right after two weeks of chaining migraines with visual auras.
I saw an ENT who didn't see anything wrong, an audilogist who confirmed that my earing is fine and a neurologist who couldn't help me. I was reffered to the Multi-Displinary Neurotology Centre, but was denied as I do not suffer from vertigo, dizziness or balance issues.

This is all happening a year after developping unexplained internal vibrations that occur any time I try to sleep or nap.

I've lost all quality of life, my ability to work and every day is torture. Is there ANY avenue I can pursue in hope of figuring out what is afflicting me?

    Dear Dr. Bercovici,
I noticed many people have asked you questions and you have been kind enough to answer everyone so I myself have reached a point where I am desperate for answers and am hoping you can give me guidance.

I am 33 years old and have been experiencing for like 6 months now a feeling like my whole body is vibrating internally, but I know I'm not imagining it as sometimes I also see some muscles twitching (following a presumed viral illness that gave me severe headaches). It feels like there is someone in the room using a jackhammer. The worst is the sensation I feel at the back of my head (including the back of my tongue and right under my chin - though my thyroid seems to be fine). I had one MRI done of my head and cervical spine that did not reveal anything suspicious. I had also asked to be referred to Western Hospital Neurology but my referral was rejected.
Would you have any suggestions as to what sort of tests I should do or who to see?

    Thank you

Dear prospective patient, i'm sorry to hear you have been going through such uncomfortable sensations. its difficult to make a diagnosis whiteout meeting you, reviewing history or examining you.
it sounds like you had a lot tests. if your doctor needs you to do an EEG we can accommodate in the office. please have your doctor send a referral.

I chose Dr. Bercovici due to all of his positive reviews. He has been a disappointment. Very dismissive of all of my concerns when I get to speak to him for 15 minutes twice a year. He now gets his secretary to call me back to recommend I speak to my family doctor when I am experiencing ataxia.

Dear patient. Thank you for your feedback and I'm sorry that your experience has been suboptimal. I am sorry if I have been difficult to reach as my family member has been admitted to the ICU but I am trying my best to make sure to reach patients in time. When patients call for new symptoms not related to the condition I'm seeing them for we do ask them to also follow up with their GP as sometimes there are symptoms which may need other doctors opinion.

    Can you help
Someone with a webbed carotid artery, very high blood pressure and fainting episodes from thunder clap headaches

    Dr. Eduard Bercovici's response
Dear patient. thank you for contacting us. Any questions regarding carotid arteries should be referred to someone who specializes in this area such as interventional neurology / neuroradiology. I am sorry this is not my specialty

Hi Dr., do you deal with patients that have a diagnose/carrier of XALD/AMN?

    Submitted April 5, 2021

    Dr. Eduard Bercovici's response
good evening. thank you for the question. my specialty within neurology is epilepsy/seizures. it really depends on the question at hand and if this central (ie brain) or peripheral (ie nerve) in origin. While I am happy to see patients with brain related issues I do not do NCS/EMG and if its related to nerves it should be directed to a neuromuscular specialist.

Hello Dr! Do you do nerve conduction studies for people who may have ulnar nerve entrapment?

    Submitted March 28, 2021

    Dr. Eduard Bercovici's response
Dear patient, as neurology is expanding certain specialists will have different focus. my focus tends to be with EEG and seizures. I do not do nerve conduction studies. if you call the office I can provide some direction as to who may do those tests in those areas.

Dr. Bercovici after reading all the positive comments I thought that maybe you could be the Dr to help my husband who has been diagnosed with rhythmic somatic tinnitus and he is now a fraction of the man he was as this has taken over his life. He has had MRI, CT scan, seen ENT’s, all to no avail. During his researches he found out that a neurologist is the only person who could help his situation. Any chance you can help him? If so he will move heaven and earth to get a referral to see you. Thank you very much in advance for taking the time to read this request. We live near Montreal but are willing to travel if need be. Many thanks

Good evening and thank you for reaching out and I hope you are able to find someone to help. to be honest I'm not sure I'm the right person for you, but if you need a specific person for tinnitus from a neurological point of you, you can get referred to a neuro-otologist

Hi there. I was wondering if you could let me know your thoughts on my mri report. My doctor said normal but it doesn’t seem to be.

Do you know what this means?
β€œ a few scattered unspecific subcentimeter foci of increased t2/flair signal within the supratantorial white matter. Correlate clinically.”

    Submitted March 6, 2021

    Dr. Eduard Bercovici's response
good evening and thank you for your question. Often our routine imaging may pick up non specific changes and while the differential diagnosis described by the radiologist may be wide it is often "non specific" or "unspecific" as its described. often it can related to any number of normal part of life but likely if you are concerned you can be referred to neurologist (with the imaging on CD for example) to look at the pictures and examine you to find out if this is worrisome or not
