Very experienced and knowledgable. Will refer you to other Drs. for major proceedures which is a plus. Also, very reasonably priced.

Dr. Sylvester has evey right to refer his patients to a dental specialist for specific procedures. He is looking out for the patients best interest. Would you want your family doctor doing plastic surgery or cancer treatment for you? Dr. Sylvester is correct in saying that there is only one orthodontic office in Stratford who has the specialty training in orthodontics. He is doing what he feels is ethical and treating his patients to the best of his ability. Give him a break!

It is very rare that I have had to interact with Dr. Sylvester apart from the final inspection after a check-up (I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing). He tends to be slow to take action if repairs need to be made and I have found that he isn't always sensitive to the concerns of the patient. He has a wonderful staff though, and is a good dentist in general!

I can't believe that I was sent to a dentist out of town for a root canal! This guy does nothing more than cleanings and fillings and easy extractions. I have switched to another dentist in Stratford who has done every single procedure our family has needed - a crown, wisdom teeth extractions, orthodontics, root canals. We have been very happy at our new dentist and he handles all of these procedures very well. Why can't Dr. Sylvester do the same? When he refers people out of town for dental services, he should be more honest with them and tell them that the same procedures can be done in town by other dentists. And he also tells his patients that the orthodontist in Stratford is the only guy in town that does orthodontics. That is not true! Our general dentist here in Stratford did a wonderful job on our 2 children's braces. Others have had the same experience, and for less money than going to the orthodontist!

I read these articles and it is quite evident that his staff have contributed the two positives as they really have no information to offer as to procedure etc.It is brutal when you attend and I moved to a new dentist and really enjoy the new dentist and they surely do most prodedures Dr Sylvester won't bother with which are every day common procedures. Dr Sylvester should be up front with his new patients and tell them he does the bare minimum as then they can move on to a competent dentist.

Horrible dentist. Did a wisdom tooth extraction on my husband without freezing. Overcharged for services that werent even completed. Hygenist damage several of my teeth with scaling by chipping off the enamel and they won't fix it without full payment. Charged my insurance for x-rays, cleaning and exam that didn't happen and advised by insurance not to go back. Still looking for a reputable dentist in the area, but having a hard time.

Dr.Sylvester is a general dentist and he feels that other dental experts that specialize in a field should be treating his patients so that they might get the best care possible. As a dental assistant I totally appreciate this philosophy of dentistry as in my years I have seen too many dentists work on patients and not do a quality job. Hygenist all have their own style. In any office you are more than welcome to ask for a certain hygenists every time you visit to ensure your visit is a pleasurable one. some people feel that they get a deep clean from some hygenists while others feel the same hygenist might be a bit rough. Dr. Sylvester is a kind man who cares about his patients and those who work in his office. His staff are incredibly friendly.

very expensive dentist. always refers to specialist for simple procedures. hygenist is brutal. not a friendly environment. switched dentists and now very happy

WARNING!! Dr Sylvester put 50% Mercury Amalgams in my teeth. I was told that I needed one filling, but got two. I was never informed what they used, or that I had a choice in the matter. He drilled into my nerve, leaving my tooth open for infection. A month later I finally had them removed and properly sealed. Also, they rushed and skipped every safety procedure I know of.
