Saw Rao for 15 seconds, for skin issues. He didn’t even look at my issue. He then directed his nurse to take me to his spa. I was given 2 creams which cost me over 200.00. I used them and broke out in a very itchy rash that went all the way up my arms. Very disappointed how he didn’t really look at me or help me.

Took a one second glance at a condition that was referred to him, said the referring GP was wrong and preformed alternate procedure. The resulting infection sent me to the ER. This was after his office kept "losing" referrals.
Highly recommend finding a different dermatologist

After waiting many weeks to see Dr. Rao, I had an appointment scheduled at 8:00 am -first appointment of the day for the clinic. After I was taken to an exam room, was told Dr. Rao didn’t arrive until after 8:30. Was told a resident could see me instead. I agreed to that as a starting point, but was clear that I wanted to see Dr. Rao. Resident was excellent, but restated that I expected to see Dr. Rao. After waiting for him until 8:55, Resident came back in and said that Dr. Rao wouldn’t be seeing me. I’ve been seeing this doctor for several years. From the beginning, found him to be arrogant, dismissive and always in a hurry to move on to next patient. I will now be searching for another dermatologist.

Barely examined me for a medical condition, not fillers or Botox. When I mentioned I had lost weight, he congratulated me instead of confirming if it was intentional or not, as that is a red flag if unintentional. Dermatologists seem to know only about cosmetic money making procedures, not serious and debilitating medical concerns. Stop gas lighting and down playing serious conditions!

Seek a different Dermatologist!! Upon a Poor 2 second visual assessment done from a very impersonal Dr. Resulted with my infected cyst being injected with cortisone !! No time allowed for me to ask any questions . Ended up with humongous abscess , +++ pain, headaches and severely swollen lymph nodes!! His nurse ( male) impersonal, cold with a major attitude when I questioned an allergic basis for cause of cyst.
He downplayed the basis of all allergies?? Duh?
My referral to Dr. Rao seriously complicated my situation !

He is condescending and arrogant to say the least. Should be reported to the CPSA for using his staff to do his work and he bills big bucks. Poor clinician overall.
Horrible staff, trying to give medical advise like a dermatologist being non doctors.
I think all his nurses can run their own show knowing his knowledge was as poor as theirs. Interesting to see skin lesions examined like a non doctor.
Staff does not want to attend to phone call, too busy I guess.
I believe medicine is now all business and no service in Alberta.
Being from BC I have had top notch care from my skin doc for years till I moved here, Thank God my GP is amazing.

One should be very concerned that they may have staff providing treatments that may not have the proper credentials , as well as lying to u when asked a question. Also if they dont like the questions asked you may be asked never to come back to their office. Not to worry i would never refer anyone or go back to that office.
