My issues and challenges were completely disregarded and he was very quick to put answers on my mouth so that our appointment could end instead of listening. I went to him as a complex case needing a full assessment. Instead I received about 3 questions and he determined then that I had no changes in my diagnosis. I saw him a few more times hopeful that he’d change but he never did. I would rather have waited longer to see another doctor than waste my time with him. I know wait lists are long but save yourself frustration and see someone else. Do better Dr. Rizvi. Slow down and listen to your patients.

He did not listen one bit. Jumped to conclusions without asking any questions. I would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. The appointment was extremely frustrating and he has VERY limited knowledge. Just shows how incompetent the health system is by giving him that medical position. He was recently moved to the Cedarbrae Medical Centre, avoid this psychiatrist!

Was referred to get help for my mood instability first thing he told me was bipolar and bpd are a hoax. Told me I was just depressed and prescribed me 2 different meds that made me feel awful, after I told him they weren’t working and I felt worse, he got offended and told me I don’t need to see him, and I quote “if you feel like killing yourself then call 911 then follow up with my office.” And hung up the phone.

Worst psychiatrist I’ve ever been to. He does not listen or care during his under a minute telephone appointments. Doctors like this are what is wrong with our health care system. I would not recommend Dr. Rizvi to anyone, especially if you have BPD. His receptionist Sharon is lovely! She is the best part of having him as a doctor. Always so kind.
When I told him I didn’t feel heard he got defensive and rude.
He is moving to Toronto in a few short weeks which means I will finally have a different doctor. Here’s to hoping they’re more empathetic.

- Over 20 minutes late to phone appointment, no acknowledgement of that or an apology.
- Discourteous. He was short with me during the appointment. It's like he just reads off a script.
- Rushed my appointment and did not seem to care about what I wanted to try to better myself. Really opinionated on matters that are not strictly medical.

I've been seeing Dr. Rizvi for a few years now and although he's good at identifying whatever mental illness you're living with, I would have appreciated a little more time with him explaining what was/is going on with my brain chemical imbalance. When you're living with a mental illness, you're on the inside looking out and you think everything is normal, when it's not. All the doctors I have had over the years and not one picked up on my bipolar until my current family doctor did. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE his staff person and she's amazing!

Staff are AWESOME! Dr Rizvi is primarily a meds doctor, no psychotherapy or counselling unless its to ask questions that will end up with him writing a prescription. Maybe I was expecting more educating me on my disorder and/or referring me to someone who's great at CBT. But, I'm doing that on my own now. Meds help stabilize, but they only go so far in treating my disorder.

Asks me what I want to take dose wise, asks about my sexual behaviours often, and i find he can be rude! His staff though is AMAZING
