I have been going to see McPhaden for a while due my thyroid and aniemia and he is very patient with me and he is always willing to listen to me. He is a great doctor and has a lot of knowledge as well.

For the past 21/2 yrs., my husband has been a patient of Dr. Mcphaden. My husband has three blood related cancers. We have ALWAYS been treated with respect, kindness and incredible knowledge of each of these cancers. He NEVER has made us feel that he really wanted us gone. He NEVER dismisses our questions as irrelevant. We (our 2 daughters, myself and my husband) always have several questions for him. We may not be with Dr Mcphaden a long time, however it is always long enough.

I have read all the reviews and the nasty ones are just plain ridiculous. No Dr. Will ever please everyone, but they do their best under the most difficult of circumstances. Try to live just one of their days.

THANK you Dr Mcphaden for all you have and continue to do to keep our beautiful husband and father with us. You have our deepest gratitude.

Amazing people like you make ordinary people like me love and enjoy life, today I see life different I’m more grateful that ever to you and to all the staff that helped me and my family throughout this 5 long years.

He is a thoughtful, wise, experienced doctor. My husband was diagnosed with lymphoma many years ago and has needed to be treated several times. We have never left his office feeling hopeless. He and his staff are amazing and I would not believe one bad review on this page. I think they’re all fakes. They don’t reflect AT ALL the experience that we’ve had with him. He is by far the best hematologist out there.

I have seen Dr. McPhaden on 5 occasions over the course of 6 years. I cannot be sure who I will get when I see him. He can be informative, patient, thorough, understanding, and kind (2 visits). He can also be dismissive, borderline rude, and rush you out the door (3 visits). I guess we all have good days and bad days. I have no complaints about the staff at the hospital.

Saw this doctor when his colleague Dr.Lee was on Mat Leave for a pre scheduled appointment for CLL. He was rude, dismissive, rushed us out the door, when he was running 90 mins behind schedule. We went to our family doctor for a follow up - stay clear if can you. The front desk staff are absolutely horrid to deal. Also, the community computers in the clinic a magnet for germ collection. Don’t use them if you want to avoid getting an infection, especially when your under going treatment. The equipment is not sanitized.

waited 6 months to see this doctor,,ive been in the hospital multiple times with high blood cell counts,,,,the secretary just called and cancelled my appointment,...the sate of the medical system in canada in general is disgusting,,,6 months and then this!!!

Cannot understand any negative reviews. I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and he is my oncologist. I am now cured and alive because of his amazing knowledge. Everything went exactly as he predicted. He is an amazing dr, knows what he’s talking about, never beats around the bush. I asked him and still ask him TONS of questions and he sits there and answers them all without hesitation or annoyance. I honestly love dr. McPhaden... HE SAVED MY LIFE. Never sends for unnecessary scans or tests which is another thing I love about him .... I don’t think I could ever say a bad thing about him. The staff in his office are friendly and amazing as well, although I only dealt with them for insurance paperwork.

Extremely patient, knowledgeable, compassionate and answers every question. Never in a rush to leave the room. His office staff is professional and very helpful and always answer the phone. I’m glad I was referred to Dr. McPhaden as I feel that he does everything possible to ensure you are looked after.

I visit Dr. McPhaden in the cancer care department at Oakville hospital, but have had to deal with his private office for insurance paperwork. Dr. McPhaden is an amazing doctor. He is knowledgeable, caring, takes the time to answer all your questions (I had A LOT) and you can tell he knows what he is talking about! My treatment so far has gone exactly as he has predicted. Anyone saying he is not a great doctor...... I'm not sure what doctor you had. He is straight up an will tell you the pros and cons with each treatment plan or situation. He never has made me feel like a question is dumb or bad for asking anything. I highly recommend him!!
