Do not have a spinal cord stimulator. This is a scam. I repeat a SCAM. He is pushing this for money. All the nurses lie and say you will no longer have to take pain meds. This surgery was more painful than my fusion. I had it removed and am still in so much more pain than before I had the spinal cord stimulator, 4 months since it was removed.

This was the worst experience of my life. I was in terrible pain and they kept putting me off. I had to go get an MRI done through the pain management group as Dr. Woodall and staff kept putting me off acting as if nothing was wrong. The nurse at the MRI center explained my nerves were severely compressed. I explained this to Dr. Woodalls staff and they told me it would be a week before the doctor could call. I called the nurse back at the MRI center and she called Dr Woodalls Office on my behalf and said this is an emergency something must be done. It took me a week to have surgery and I am now disabled due to the delay. I need continued care and this staff will not assist. This is the rudest healthcare professionals I have ever dealt with in my life. You would expect doctors, nurses , and administrators to care about patients and patients in pain. I strongly recommend you find another group if you need a knowledgeable, kind, empathetic, caring medical team. This is not it. They must go out of their way to hire hateful teammates. I so wish I had read the below comments before I ever went to this group. The comments below are comparable to all I have experienced. I felt like I was reading my scenario but it goes to show this is typical for this group. Doctors and nurses would not be in business without patients. This team needs to go to the school of patient care and practice it.

Dr. Woodall is very easy to talk to and is a professional physician. He takes his time with his patients (at least he always has with me). This has been my reason that
my family has been using him for years. I am however wondering if I have been blind to one particular thing. Like the post of March 2009, I too had a fusion surgery done by him that went so badly that I had to quit work and am now on disability because of it. I thought it was just my misfortune that my fusion did not work.
I have never spoken badly of him but now I feel I must. The person who posted on August 6, 2011 stated so perfectly how difficult and rude his office staff is. If you need any help with something they will stonewall you and blatantly refuse to help. I had the experience of standing at the desk of one of them with Dr. Woodall as he told her to do something for me. When he walked away she became very agitated and angry and indicated to me that she had no intention of doing as he had asked. I became very upset and will never return. Up until now I have recommended him to many people. I now recommend that no one use him, especially after reading that other people have had the same negative experiences.

If you can't take hydrocodone or codeine you are pretty much out of luck. I was treated like a criminal because I was trying to get pain relief prior to an unexpected vacation opportunity for my child. I rescheduled surgery for the week after this vacation, and asked for pain medication for the first time in 7 months so I could walk to the beach from the room. They kept calling in things that either I was allergic to or that the pharmacy or my hematologist's office said DO NOT TAKE. His VERY opinionated staff took things in the wrong direction, and this doctor will support his nurses even if they are blatantly lying (interesting that one has the same last name as he does). I've had 3 prior surgeries with different doctors, no problems - AVOID this doctor!!! You'll probably be fine unless you don't fit in the neat little box he has created for his patients - then you are suddenly a "problem patient!!!"

I had been suffering from throat/swallowing problem all my life, he performed the throat surgery on my cervical osteophytes & now my eating has never been more enjoyable than ever. He's very friendly, warm & showed concern about your condition. His staff are very friendly & warm, too. I can swallow big capsules, tablets, caplets now, before, I couldn't do it, had to crush them & put them in liquid to be able to take them. He is a great surgeon for me & I'm very grateful to him for giving me back my normal swallowing, especially food.;-))

Allowing this"doctor" do do spinal surgery was thew worst mistake of my life. During a fusion he put a screw into a nerve root and it took almost 3 weeks before I could convince him that the severe pain was not just due to normal post op pain. He was shocked to see the MRI showing the screw was badly misplaced. Caused permanent damage to my right leg and lifelong pain that can't be reversed. No, I did not sue. There was no point in it..the damage was already done. He rushed me back into surgery the next morning and replaced the screw correctly. I know a doctor is only human but this had serious consequences and I feel he was just in a hurry that morning because he has two other surgeries scheduled after mine. I do think he was truely sorry but I was charged for the corrective surgery!!!

The only doctor I could find to do minimally invasive back surgery. I'm so glad I waited.
