Dr. Smiltnieks is great. I shopped around for doctors and was a little put off by the look of the office at first, but when it comes down to it, it's the level of care I am concerned about, NOT the decor. Dr. Smiltnieks is knowledgeable, kind and caring. She actually listens to your concerns and respects the parents inputs. I highly recommend this doctor.

Our whole family LOVES Dr. Barbara. She CARES! for all of us and makes us feel welcome and listened to, never rushed during our appointments. She frequenlty makes time to call us back at home after hours if we've a concern, and has even done some internet research for us as well -- & called us with the results herself. How many Drs actually do that now? We feel blessed to have her take such good care of our 2 year old son. As for the Staff - they have been great to work with and very pleasant to us, always trying to squeeze us in at a moment's notice. The office is fine, it just needs a coat of paint and the fish are fun! You're in great hands with Dr. Barbara!

If you can get passed the older condition of the office... I promise you will be delighted. Dr. Barbara is simply a genuine, sincere, pleasant woman who clearly loves children. She is patient, attentive and extremely knowledgeable - she never rushes during my appointment. Her knowledge and expertise shows though her level of care. My 1.5 y/o daughter is so comfortable with Dr. Barbara because she always speaks with a gentle and kind voice; just plain charming. I don't know how else to express how fortunate I feel to have Dr. Barbara as my daughters paediatrician. So, my advice is: don't focus on the office; bring some of your child's own toys or books to keep them occupied during the wait - it has nothing to do with the quality of care Dr. Barbara will provide.

This is the first & last time we are going there. The office is dark, gloomy, and looks dirty and grimy. It's like walking into the ghetto Dr's office. It's very small and extremely crowded (like a 10 x 12 room and it had about 18 people and 5 strollers and various kids running around). We waited 45 minutes and still didn't see anyone. We gave up and left. Can't comment on the Dr.'s abilities as we didn't even see her hence the 3 score for helpful/knowledgeable. I don't want to slam the Dr. if I haven't even met her, but the office and staff are disgusting. Never would go back.

Dr. Smiltnieks was incredibly responsive to my children and extremely polite and courteous. She had a beautiful smile on her face each time she addressed my kids and I was surprised to see that my kids were so comfortable with her since they always cry when they go to see a doctor. She spent the time to patiently listen to each of our concerns regarding our children and address each issue to our complete satisfaction. The only concern I had was that the receptionists were too busy gossiping rather than attending to the patients standing in front of them waiting to checkin and were not friendly at all...in fact, they seemed perturbed that they were being disturbed each time a new patient showed up at the office.

Lovely, Lovely Lady! We just started seeing Dr.S and she was really wonderful. Spoke directly to my son and made him feel very comfortable. She was very reassuring to me as well, and made sure that we would be following up with several issues that were of concern. Well informed,, knowledgeable, friendly and very patient. Very happy, and feel lucky to have found Dr.S for my son. Office staff friendly, courteous and accomodating. Thanks Dr.S

When you see "Pediatrician" in the dictionary, her photo is there. She is everything you would hope for when your child is ill. Her attention is given primarily to the child, and the parent is secondary. Dr. Smiltnick's bedside manner is tops, as she is able to put a child at ease very quickly, and draw info from the child about their malady just as fast. She is very thorough in her examinations I am fully confident in her abilities and knowledge and she is extremely thorough and will make referrals without hesitancy. She is a very conscientious doctor and I have complete faith in her.
