I was a patient of Dr. Fred Murrell at Village Orthodontics some years ago. I had many of the same issues I am seeing from others who have left comments - failure of Dr. Murrell to show up for scheduled appointments, arrogance, difficulty in getting follow-up appointments in a timely manner, which delayed the progress of treatment.
This is what I finally did. Village Orthodontics in Yorkville, where I attended, had a very good manager at the time. I phoned her after one particularly upsetting episode and told her I could not continue with Dr. Murrell. She was able to assign me to another, professional orthodontist at Village Orthodontics for the duration of my treatment. If the manager had not helped me out, I would have stopped attending at Village Orthodontics. (Aside from that manage, staff were not helpful.)
We think we have no choice as to practitioner-- once we have started with one individual. That is not so. Do not tolerate unprofessional behaviour from a professional. You do not need to do so.

Horrible experience with Dr. Murrell, Village Orthodontics Square One Mississauga. My daughter spent nearly 4 painful years in braces. After removal, her front teeth are severely protruding. Three other orthodontists and an oral surgeon confirmed she needs to repeat full orthodontic treatment for another 24-30 months including removal of healthy teeth and possibly jaw surgery. But we are not sure if her teeth can withstand more braces due to the root damage incurred during lengthy treatment with Dr. murrell. I had to ask Dr. Murrell to look for root damage. By the time he checked, the damage was done. He says the root loss has no significance. He is dismissive, and does not effectively communicate the full story. Tends to walk away when asked difficult questions.

My daughter got her braces here and we had a nightmare of an experience - braces took over 3 years and still not good so had to go back pn.. even after that problems. This man is rude, condescending, arrogant. I regret this whole experience so much ! Just pain and misery! I wish such people had their licence taken away.

Used to be ok but then was bought by a corporation and became all about the money. Not a perfectionist, wants to get it finished fast without caring!

I think he doesn't know when to stop. Do not sing anything at his office. READ it first. Does anyone know how to sue him, even I am sure that the small print keeps him safe...

Very rude, my daughter's braces were removed and her teeth were pushed out. Had to then put the braces back on.! Terrible experience for her

This man is a money hungry pathetic excuse for a human being. His knowledge of orthodontics is very poor and he has a terrible attitude to match. He is also a racist. Buyer beware!
