He was our Doctor for 13 years. I never had a better Doc in my life. All you want from a Doctor, he had it and much more. Unfortunately Abrazo in all their stupidity forced him to retire. He did not want to go and was ready to keep another 3 to 5 years more. We miss him so much. Enjoy you retirement Doctor Tom.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mertins for 6 years, he is a very nice Dr. but his staff is horrible, I have choosen to look for another primary care doctor because I dread dealing with his office staff. They are always rude and cranky. Thought I was just catching them on bad days but after speaking with others they have had the same experience. Dr Mertins is knowledgeable but his referrals to others have been less than expected. Most of the specialists I have been referred to from Dr. Mertins have not been very knowledgeable and have misdiagnosed issues. Unfortunately when it comes to health care the end result is the most important aspect. With Dr. Mertins I dread starting with his staff and ending with this specialists.

Dr. Mertins was our family doctor for over 10 years. He is wonderful, kind and very knowledgeable. He took extra care to investigate any concerns we had. He offered resources to find solutions for areas he did not specialize in. He is a great Doctor we highly recommend him.

Dr. Mertins is the best doctor I've ever had (15 years). He listens, evaluates, asks the right questions, and is up to date on current medical advances. He's helped me with my type 2 diabetes and a host of other issues. He focuses on prevention and tells you like it is. No sugar coating, very factual, and explains why he makes the recommendations he does. I'm luck to have him as my doctor.

Dr. Mertins has been my primary doctor for almost 9 years...I am 65 years old and have never in my life had this good of a doctor. He listens to what you say. He will refer you if he has to but is able to handle most things himself..

Dr. Mertins has been both my husband and my primary care doctor for eight years. We have had serious health issues and he has been wonderful. I highly recommend him for the entire family.
