went to Surrey memorial hospital in an emergency situation. This Doctor along with 10 others left me to rot and basically watched me suffer from a very treatable infection that resulted in instead of being treated with antibiotics the infection was left to burn through my throat hitting my spinal cord an OKd causing me to become quadriplegic on a ventilator to breath. Dear doctor. I know who you are I know what you did and it is my mission to see that you pay dearly for doing this to me. I will be campaigning to have your license revoked and your insurance Company to pay dearly. See you in court and in front of your review board

This was actually on the phone, and in person. My daughter had an ear infection one day, and the next morning we were surprised to see she woke up with fluid draining from her ear, and her hair matted on that side. I was unable to get in to see our family dr or pediatrician that day, and I wasn’t quite sure whether this was an urgent matter or not. I thought I’d try Dr. Dickson on the off chance I could get some information, before erring on the side of caution and heading to Children's. His amazing assistant “C” (who I think would make an amazing dr herself), was able to contact him for me. After answering a few questions, she was able to relay that it was not an emergency and can wait a day or 2 to see the family dr.. The most important and reassuring part of this was that he included an explanation that this was common, it was a way for the body to expel the infectious fluid, and that the ear drum heals quickly. Also reassuring was that I was told next steps: see a dr. in the short term, follow up in a few weeks when the eardrum should be healed, and book an appointment with an audiologist to test her hearing after 3 months. A few days later he said he’d squeeze her in for a few minutes to take a look at it personally, which was completely above and beyond. My 8 year daughter thinks he is super nice. I told his assistant that, and she said he loves kids, and if there is a birthday party his own child is attending he is the one who likes to go to the toy store to buy the gift, which I thought was sweet. I did read reviews. I imagine he is stressed for time as there are so many demands on it, and also by the amount of responsibility he has with operating on children. My job involves being entrusted with other people's homes, and when on a job I don't sleep at night. I don't think I would have the stress capacity for the same thing with a human. I would take that into consideration when evaluating the temperament of any specialist. I for one am an extremely grateful parent, and am appreciative of the efficiency of this health care experience!

This doctor yelled at me in his office in front of my child. Also you would never know he likes kids. So this one is a no for me. Staff was wonderful though.

We’ve been seeing Dr Dickson for 5 years now (for both my kids) and, quite honestly, I think he’s misunderstood. He is incredibly knowledgeable and informative. He’s straight to the point and doesn’t waste time with small talk like some doctors do. I see negative reviews on here and think that people who have only seen him once do not understand his personality or how he operates. I highly recommend him!

Saw him in 2019, early 2020 (for surgery) and late 2020 for follow-up. He's polite but He isn't sunshine and rainbows. I hate when doctors sugarcoat things, he gets to the point and gets it done. No complications with surgery.

Rudest person in the world. Made my child feel so insecure about himself by constantly complaining. There could be something seriously wrong with his ears but we would never know because he is too insecure to get his ears checked again. This man needs to get humbled and calm down. Just because you have the education to be a doctor doesn't mean that your worthy enough.

My son saw Dr Dickson today for issues with sleep and breathing. He explained the exam in advance including the ‘spaghetti’ camera and showed us pictures of what he was looking for. I was impressed by his knowledge and happy that he didn’t recommend surgery in our situation. He was patient and present with my son. We were happy with his care.

I have taken my child to Dr Dickson for years. He had always been patient and kind to my daughter. I understand some of the things he needs to do can be uncomfortable for children. My child gets her ears cleaned and at times it can be somewhat uncomfortable but we understand it is also difficult for him. We will continue to see him because it makes a huge difference for our daughters quality of life.
