If you need a prescription, I guess I would trust him to pull out a pen and write it. But if you're interested in therapy, do yourself a huge favor and look elsewhere.

Dr. Richmond is the most insightful and responsive doctor we have seen in our challenging situation of the past few years. Our experience across a number of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, counselors and programs has often been confusing, counter-productive and impersonal. Dr. Richmond is obviously very bright and well trained but he has also proven to be available whenever we need his help and he consistently and effectively works with us to both calm the symptoms all the while de-layering the problems to move towards a long-term plan for life. We trust him with the most precious thing in our life and we appreciate his commitment to our family.

Dr. Richmond is a good listener and empathic, IMO. He's always on time, responds to all forms of communication, ie email/text, and refills prescriptions within the hour. I don't feel he's as quick to prescribe meds as some of the other psychs I've had in my past... he obtains as much information as possible from you, cross references it with all of the latest trends and publications (he keeps up with the latest), and let's you know what he thinks is the best individualized course of action for you to take.

I've been Dr. Richmond's patient for many years and he's an excellent psychiatrist. He explains medications clearly and thoroughly, cares about his patients, and is a real professional. You're in good hands with Dr. Richmond.

Unprofessional is an understatement. Dr Richmond treated me as a therapist. He spent many sessions getting information on my situation and almost did not talk. He then terminated me saying that we were not able to start treatment. He wrote an extremely rude letter in which he revealed all the pent-up aggression that he should have been processing during those sessions. He is narcissistic. His training in psychoanalysis did not do him any good - he misses dynamic opportunities, he does not practice in an analytical fashion. In fact, he does not practice at all - he just collects money. All of those failures were happening during a critical time in my life so the outcome was very very sad for me. I would never recommend him to anyone: run from Dr Richmond as fast as you can.
