I'm researching this doctor, and saw so many negative reviews. Quite a few of them sounded like they were from a same person. So I was wondering if this website allows everybody to give any review without being a patient? So here is an experiment.

Dr. Weber charged an outrageous amount for essentially advice only. No dental procedures were performed. His advice, had I followed it, would have cost me thousands of dollars in an unnecessary extraction. Another DDS was able to save my tooth with a crown, a far less expensive procedure than an extraction and bridge. Be forewarned if you plan on visiting Dr. Weber.

This guy should not be practicing. Unnecessary procedures to run up bill and incompetent as well. If you care at all about your teeth, do not go here.

It may be true that he does not botch every job or take advantage of everyone, but for many or most people he does do unnecessary procedures . I was so traumatized by my visit here that I went online afterwards and found that a lot of people had gone through the same awful and dangerous experience that I had. Namely, he intentionally draws out simple one step procedures into 4 visits that he wants to take place over months and months while your pain gets more and more unbearable. If you keep going to him, there is a good change your tooth will be ruined. Even the novacane shots are not done well so either he is clumsy or past his prime. I had scheduled a root canal but instead he drilled the tooth, poked around, and closed it . He wanted me to come back in a month before he would start the root canal. There are no words to describe the pain, and I had to go elsewhere else to save the tooth and get the root canal done, by then the root was in a highly aggravated state, pain in my ear and up the side of my face, stabbing pain in my tooth, none of which I had when I got there. I had to report him to my insurance company for doing unnecessary procedures although I doubt anything will be done about him until there is a class action lawsuit.

Dr Weber is might be competent, but you as a patient pay a price. He is very egoistical, and does not explain the procedure he is doing that just adds to the uneasiness of dealing with him. Go somewhere else!!

He often suggests patient to do unnecessary teeth CT scan and usually it turns out it does not provide any additional helpful information. He presents in a way that it is critical to take it but at the end you realize it does nothing but suck another hundreds of dollars out of your pocket and you got CT radiology on your body.

I must disagree with other reviews. I've had a bunch of root canals over many years. I was so grateful to find Dr. Michael Weber after some horrific experiences with another endodontic practice. First of all he takes a conservative approach and works so hard to save a tooth. I have crazy bifurcated roots and they're a challenge, especially since I can't use regular anesthetic. He communicates throughout, checks on my comfort level, lets me know how we're progressing timewise, and is painless! I have sent so many friends and colleagues his way--everyone has been so grateful. I was so glad to have moved back to the area when I needed another root canal. Don't hesitate to see him. AS you can tell, I'm a devoted patient as I had some really bad experience with other 'well known' Chevy Chase/ Bethesda endodontists. EC

I paid a lot of money for a bad root canal. I went back 4 times and it still wasn't right. I finally gave up and had the tooth pulled out.

I had a root canal by Dr. Weber for a tooth that way too brittle and should have been extracted to begin with. I kept calling him up to 10 days afterwards to say that I didn't think it was normal to be in this much pain. Rather than seeing me, he kept saying to take more and more Advil. I went to another dentist out of desperation to find out that the tooth had split in half and the two pieces were shifting up and down, jabbing me in my gums. It had to be extracted. I wish he had recommended an extraction instead and had been more concerned when I complained about the severe pain. The tooth was so brittle that it was difficult to extract.
