Very rude,unprofessional one of the worst doctors ever seen in my life.took my 8 years old daughter and she needed an injection she was just a bit worried and this a’hole started screaming on her and shouted ,doesn’t have any manners.his degrees also should be checked I guess he just got his degrees from some useless university out of Canada and just transferred here he should first learn some ethics and please don’t take your kids over there...I came out of the room and there was a lady screaming at the doctor saying that don’t be rude to my kid..so please avoid this idiot

First consultation he asked me if I had any questions. He answered my first. My 2nd question he answered me be telling me that I should look up the procedure on Google. That Google could answer all my questions. Nice

After the procedure I went to his office to remove the staples. I asked him how it went in the operating room. Was it a typical procedure? Any complications? He said he couldn't answer because my file was on his desk. ( maybe refer to the file before seeing your patient?) So we went back to his desk and he grabbed my file. Before he could read it his cell phone rang. He answered, then covered the mouth piece and said it was an important call, told me to call the office if any complications arose. I was dismissed.

Hopefully he is skilled at the actual operation. Time will tell.

The receptionist was very nice though !

I am writing this review on behalf if my husband who is not computer savy. He recently had surgery performed by Dr. Lai who has clearly been
doing this work for many years. Contrary to many reviews left on this site our opinion of this surgeon is that his knowledge & expertise is excellent. I went with hubby to the pre-surgery consultation, armed with the records I keep of his numerous surgical procedures. The questions we asked Dr. Lai about the upcoming surgery were answered fully & to our satisfaction. Shortly before the surgery I was dismayed to see the low ratings of Dr. Lai online, but I can only guess that some of the reviewers may be accustomed to health care professionals that display extreme empathy toward their patients, Dr. Lai does not do this, he may well be an introvert, this does not make him an unskilled surgeon. All of our opinions are ours to make & over my own career I have found that people have little problem in quickly making condemnations and slow at giving kudos.
There are health professionals in our family & I am continually amazed at the tenacity, commitment & sacrifices they are called upon to make & uphold each day.

THIS F'in "surgeon" is a joke I "" surgeon because DR LAI SHOULD NOT BE PRACTICING!!!! I am in the healthcare field myself. I know about healthcare protocol! upon meeting this idiot was rude! arrogant! And just downright unprofessional He gave off a bad vibe the moment I stepped in his office for a consult!! I went to jim pattison just today thinking he wouldn't be the performing surgeon! Sure enough it was him! HERES SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE YOU HEAR HIS NAME AND TURN AROUND RUNNING FOR ANOTHER SURGEON!! ...he calls me in the room tells me to remove my shirt and lay down ...I walk around the bed and I notice a HUGE pile of bloody gauze!!! I said are you gonna clean this room before you perform surgery after someone else was just in here!!!??? He said no that's not my job!!! Well to heck with that I ain't f'in laying down!! clean the room and call me back in or put me in another room F have you even washed your hands after you touched the last person!? the nurse was standing there too as I basically said your a sick F for accepting to do the surgery in this room it literally looked like a war zone! And when I walked out of the room to shake my head and say wtf is this for real or a joke and I turned around and went back in to have a second look I was just so shocked that this was happening the gauze was gone but still bandage wrappers on the ground they literally did a quick pick up and called it clean that's just repulsive i wanted to vomit. I don't care who's suppose to clean it!! it should have been cleaned before I came in and was asked to lay down!! and because I was in the waiting room just 7 feet from the surgery door I saw 5 people go in that room and come out! And just knowing 5 ppl one after another were getting cut open and stitched up in the last persons mess just makes me sick!!! I'm calling the college of physicians and even the press !!!! I have contacted Fraser health authority already and will be calling all my connections I have thru my medical knowledge as a practising nurse!!! For god sakes please find a different surgeon !!!

Very unprofessional people. They are rude and arrogant and UNETHICAL. We didnt bring our precription with us and he gave us sh** for it. When we said get it from our family doctor and clearly he had our file there he said he dosnt trust the doctor and he threw the paper. He started giving me examples and showing me other patients charts when i told him to stop that he is going against what is called "confidentiality" he felt offended. I didnt even mention his medical office assistnt she dosnt know a single thing about customet service or how to even greet ppl. IWOULD NEVER RECOMMEND GOING HERE. IF I COULD GIVE -1 RATING I WOULD I DIDNY EVEN WANT TO GIVE THAT 1 RATING. THEY DONT DESERVE IT.

Dr. Lai does not have to be my best friend, but if I should ever need a surgeon again, I want him. He was kind to me and I felt well taken care of.

I found Dr. Lai to be very knowledgeable and thorough. He took the time to listen to my symptoms and I didn't feel rushed. He explained my options well and I felt confident to go back to him. I have had two doctors recommend him. I felt Dr. Lai cared about his patients and unlike many specialists I wasn't kept waiting for longer then 15 min. The staff were helpful too.

Professionalism at its worst. I work as ICU nurse. I have never seen any doctor this unprofessional. This doctor has no manners whatsoever. He was very rude to my father. Receptionist booked appointment twice for my father but my dad never get to see doctor. She denied that appointment was ever booked. He was sent back from reception. I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone. My dad will see some other doctor.
