Kept me on an antidepressant that did not work for me for over a year. Would not prescribe any other antidepressants. If an antidepressant doesn't work for 3-4 months AT MOST, it is not going to work. Abusive: stalked me out of his office when I called him out for lying. Will not return phone calls only call the police if he doesn't want to deal with you -- which is never. I guess it boots his pay. Said he would refer me to another psychiatrist at Burrell but never would. That was one of his lies. I called him on it and he literally stalked me out of his office. And then tried to charge me. Not even Mercy would consent to that.

Dr Balun spends 90% of the time talking about what other patients are dealing with. He doesn't mention any names, but hearing how other people react to medicines or their delusions doesn't help me at all. I always come away feeling more helpless than when I went in because he doesn't seem to listen to me. I am looking for another doctor.

Dr. Balun is not just there to write out scripts, but he genuinely cares about what is going on with you and how those things affect you. He is very light hearted so you never feel on edge or guarded. I wish all of my doctors were like him!

Dr. Balun is soft-spoken and very caring. He listens and doesn't jump to conclusions. He carefully checks other medications before changing or adding meds. A wonderful doctor!
