Have had several colonoscopies through the years and he is the best. Talks to you in lay mans terms and genuinely cares. Has made this very difficult disease manageable.

Dr B has been my GI specialist for Crohn's for 25 years now through many flares and 4 surgeries. Absolutely the best doctor of any kind I have ever had ... and I now travel from northern BC to see him! He participates in my healthcare rather than telling me what to do.

Dr. Borthisle has tended to me for Crohn's for over 20 years. I love him dearly and trust him entirely. His advise and attention have been great. He has been the best doctor ever for me. I will miss him deeply when he retires for good. Thanks for a great 20+ years of service.

I have crohn's and have seen a number of Gastroenterologists. Dr. Borthistle has been the best out of the lot. I highly recommend him.

I have crohn's and have been to 4 different GI docs in the past 25 years. Doc, Borthistle has been one of the best so far. Not sure why the negitives on this site as he's not a GP.

Claimed I had Cancer of the Bowl, without doing a Biopsy before sending me off for an operation. I wasn't pleased with his nurse either.

Have had Dr Borthistle for over 20 years and find him to be very helpful and knowledgeable. He keeps current with changes in treatment and is very open and collaborative with me. My opinions and research count and he listens to me.

Doctor was called in by Emergency Doctor after he had checked previous tests which mentioned I had polys, one removed for testing. As I was still having problems. Was kept in over night,had migraine so was given medication by staff. Taken down for colonscopy in morning but still sedated. Dr. reported that I had no polys and stated that I required a lot of reassurance'. Did not talk to this doctor, unless I was sedated. No follow up. Did not even check previous tests for information. i was dismissed and no follow up. Still have problem, Will seek another more knowledgable and more approachable doctor if problems continue. Worried about colon cancer but received no reassurance at all from this doctor. Was told by three other doctors that I should have regular checkups but this doctor disagreed or did not even bother with their information. Current doctors have accepted his report but i have followed up with a letter to ensure that they will check more thoroughly next time.

I found Dr Borthistle to be most approachable and informative. He gives you all the facts and his recommendations without rushing you.
