He saved my life when I was in grade 1, if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t have the 3 beautiful and wonderful kids that I have.

I had removal of breast tissue done by this surgeon in 2008. A benign biopsy was completed and it was decided that the tissue would be removed to be on the safe side. Dr. Petrakos has absolutely no bedside manner. He is efficient but makes it clear that you are taking up a lot of precious time. When I asked him about reconstructive surgery in my ONLY post operative office visit his quip to me was "at least you don't have cancer!" As of today I have had my reconstructive surgery (no thanks to him) and I would NEVER recommend him to anyone!!!! My GP was shocked at the **** job he did!

I found Dr. Petrakos to be very helpful in answering all questions. very straight forward answers and no sugar coating anything. Using a life size diagram to explain what would happen during the surgery helped me very much. I would highly recommend Dr. Petrakos to all family and friends.

Dr. Petrakos is an excellent surgeon; and he goes the extra mile in helping his patients. This was confirmed to me by a friend whose mother had been a patient of his. They had come to the hospital E.R. because she was experiencing some problem. Dr. Petrakus was heading out of the hospital for the weekend, saw his patient there; asked how he could help, and took off his jacket and took care of her. Would highly recommend him!

Dr. P. was called in on a consult for my father. I found his visit extremely disturbing. I believe he gets some type of gratification in raising alarm & panic in others and delights in inciting drama where there is none, which I think is both cruel and unneccessary. He offered dire predictions on some other issues my father has - all of which were outside his area of expertise and outside the issue he was consulting on. Yes, he gets tests run right away but only because that fuels his desire to raise "alarm". I would not voluntarily return to him for any type of service.

he may be very good at his craft. I will give him that but, he should have someone else speak to patients on his behalf because he lacks in people skills. he is very rude and condescending. he has a very cold and callous manner about him. I would call him a pessemistic surgeon. he is able to tend to your physical aspects of the body but, not your emotional and they go in hand in hand.

I have been a patient of Dr. Petrakos for about 12 years and I hold him very dear to my heart for many reasons. He has incredible knowledge, he is thorough and consise with explanations, he takes his time and is genuinely concerned, and he cares for his patients to his best ability. There were many times when I was terrified, confused, and even on the verge of giving up. But Dr. Petrakos was always there to comfort and encourage me. He also has gone above and beyond his call of duty countless times to ensure I have the necessary tests, procedures, appointments, and even admittance in hospital - all in an expeditious manner. Dr. Petrakos is truly a remarkable surgeon, but most importantly, a truly remarkable person.

Dr. Petrakos also saved my life. Unfortunately, his bedside manner is lacking. His students make up for his harsh manner and seeming indifference.
