I brought my son in for an examination to sort out an issue he has been having for quite some time. Before she even asked him about the history of the issue, she began asking him if he had gotten the vaccine that has just recentky been rolled out. He and I informed her that he had already had the nasty virus to which he recovered just fine. Oh, no, she told him he needed it and that he didn't want to be responsible for killing his grandparents if he got it again. My son has been riddled with anxiety over this entire pandemic. So much that he has had suicidal ideation and is now on anti-depressants. How she could even indicate that he would be responsible for killing his grandparents is beyond me. He was so stressed out afterwards that he had issues sleeping for weeks and had to see his counselor twice a week instead if the usual 1x weekly. I have fired her. She will NEVER again touch one of my family members. If my sin gets vaccinated, it will be an informed decision that both his primary physician, Himself and I decide to do. It wasn't her place. As an ENT, she should stick to what she knows and leave the rest to their own disciplines. I am appalled.

I went in for an ear infection (referral from primary doctor). Before I saw the ENT doctor, I was run through an auditory exam (which I was told later was not standard protocol) and then saw the doctor. She took a look and said there was nothing wrong. She then asked if there was anything else I had concerns about and I mentioned my snoring and that my nose is constantly stuffy. She said that there would be nothing in the nose that would contribute to snoring and then, non-chalantly, she said, "Well, we could run a scope in your nose and see if anything is wrong." I agreed, not understanding that this would be billed out at $545 for a 2 minute procedure (later found out when I got my explanation of benefits). Of course, I called and complained and the billing assistant said that there is nothing that I could do except write a letter of complaint and submit it to administration. I did so the very same day and delivered it in person...17 days later, after no response from anyone in the office, I called in and spoke with the office administrator. She admitted she hadn't even read the letter yet, after nearly 3 weeks. When I explained to her the purpose of my visit and asked her if what I experienced was standard protocol (not explaining cost associated with procedure especially if they are non-essential and exploratory exercises) and also to be run through a auditory exam even before seeing the doctor, she said that it wasn't and it is something they are addressing with the doctors on staff as I was not the only person to make this type of complaint. After about a 10 minute phone call with the administrator, she agreed to dismiss the charges for the auditory exam (as it wasn't ordered by the doctor) as well as the scope and said she would be bringing this to the next office meeting. Quite honestly, there is ZERO trust with this office as I now feel like they are trying to juice as much money from each patient as possible without regard to the willingness or ability to pay such charges. Our agreement is that I will pay the doctor consult fee (which I am MORE than willing to pay), and they will remove the $545 scope charge as well as the $200 auditory exam fee. One last thing, when I told the billing lady that I was never informed of the charges associated with each procedure, she put the onus back on me by saying, "at any time during your visit, you are welcome to ask what things cost." What a cop out. PATIENTS BEWARE - ASK WHAT EVERYTHING COSTS AND DON'T ASSUME THAT THE DOCTOR HAS YOUR BEST HOLISTIC WELL-BEING IN MIND. I won't be back and will be sharing this story with as many people as possible when the conversation arises.

I don't usually give reviews but feel a more current one would be nice. The good attributes others have given Dr. Steele still apply. She is both a good physician and a good person. Her assistant Connie (who took over after Kat) is retiring soon. Best wishes Connie! BTW I was a septoplasty patient. The 4 out of 5 star punctuality rating is just because the wait is probably any doctor average to a bit shorter. Anyway to sum up, I highly recommend Dr. Steele.

Dr. Steele is extremely knowledgable and skilled, and has an excellent bedside manner as well. She listens and cares about her patients (which can effect her punctuality). She also is very good about referring up to OHSU when appropriate. Kat, her assistant, is pleasant, helpful and very "on top" of things. Would highly recommend.

Dr. Steele takes the time to listen. That means people have to wait longer to see her but her intellect, problem solving and compassion are worth the wait.

The office rule is you cannot change doctors in house. Therefore, this doctor and this staff cannot really hear you. The staff fails to make referrals in a timely manner.
