First of all he was close to an hour late for the appointment. Then all he wanted to do was to write me a prescription for a medication that I all ready had enough of at home and that he was taking me off. I also felt that the staff after the previous appointment (1st one) should have told me that my next one would be only for 15 minutes. so I ended up with less then 10 minutes when I needed to really talk with him.

Dr. hansen is one of a few special Dr.s who care and respect the needs of people with mental illness. I have seen many Psych. Dr.s over the years and he is by far the most compassionate one i have worked with!!!

Dr. Hansen is a very patient, caring Psychiatrist. He listens intently and never judges. He seems genuinely concerned with my needs and always discusses my options with regards to medications. He has helped me immensely and for that I am very grateful. I always feel a lot better when I leave his office.

Dr. Hansen has had me in his care twice. The first time he seemed very knowledgeable. The second time was while I was in AHP under his care. I was diagnosed as Bipolar Type I... and he put me on a few medications that aggravated it, and threw me into higher manias. I had to jump through some serious hoops so I could get out of the hospital and see my regular Psychiatrist, who ended up fixing the problem immediatley... as well as questioning Hansens treatment. I think it was easier when he was dealing with the depression part of it, he seemed to overly medicate both me and other patients in his care. BEWARE... if you get him as a Dr. Realize that you are able to ask questions about your care, and if you don't like how you are doing on the meds, it never hurts to get a 2nd opinion... there are really great docs on this site.
