For those of you saying he vanished - He retired years ago. Get your facts straight.

After reading about Chris or Cristian Van Vuuren as he goes by as orthodontist in Sydney Australia, I was amazed this quack is also doing his trade in Canada and who knows where else. His prices are over the top, his bedside manner is rude.n cocky for a professional. Some reviewers he mention he disappears, that's probably when he flies to Australia to be an orthodontist for a few years. This dude needs be sent back to South Africa asap

In the past I had seen this doctor. When my family doctor passed away my medical files were transferred to Dr. Van Vurren. These files would have contained my medical history for my entire life up to that point. After he decided to disappear from practicing medicine, all of my medical information including the new information that he would have added, disappeared along with him. I have contacted the Alberta College of Physicians and Surgeons and of course they could not or would not provide any information or insight regarding the matter. Letting me know that I could file a complaint was the only information they provided.

When seeing this doctor I noted the many times I left feeling like he was extremely unprofessional. Not very knowledgeable at all.

I disagree with most here. He was always late, never followed up, put off doing tests whenever he could and just didn't seem to care at all. Then he vanished. I only found out when I tried to book an appointment. Where did my records go? Alberta Health had no clue. Thank goodness I found another doctor who actually cares and she does her job.

Thank god this great doctor will be back soon. I can't wait to see a real doctor again that cares for his patient and is not just another pill pusher. I can honestly say as a gay male I felt safe,respected, treated with nothing but compassion and attention. He has helped me through many struggles in my life that may have prevented me from bring her today of it wasn't from him. His immediate decision to gets others involved rather than just push pills like other doctors us what got he the right help n treatment. Thank you thank you!! I wish I could repay him somehow. He should honestly be given the doctor of the year award. See you soon Sir and I will follow you regardless. I currently drive 4.5 hours to see him and know that it's 100% worth it.

He's vanished - for how long we don't know and where he's gone we don't know. How do we get our medical records? Anyone at Alberta Health aware of this situation? Of course not - we only found out by accident. What a shambles.

Fabulous Doctor. Am so fortunate to be a patient. Dr. Van Vuuren has helped me to diagnose and resolve digestive problems and sports injuries before they have become serious.

Since Dr. Van Vuuren is now at his own clinic he has amazing staff and is alot less stressed. Yes he has shorter work hours but he is an amazing Dr. He has helped my husband and I alot! Can't say enough about him!
