An awful doctor and person. I was a victim of Munchausen by Proxy with a mother that lied about my behavior and mental health starting at a young age. Seeing Dale Giolas was like pouring gasoline on the fire that was my abusive parent. He never believed me when I reported what was going on at home and drugged me to the point of addiction and disability. I was on over 25 different psych drugs as his patient, taking as many as 7 at a time. His seemed constantly high during office visits and I've spoken with several other patients of his who also believe he was abusing stimulants during work hours. We are all safer now that his license has been revoked

Dr Giolas is by far one of the most abusive Dr's
I've ever met in my life
Beginning at age 16
He put his hands on me in his office at Forest Hospital pushed me down into a chair and told me to sit my a** down
This was all based in stuff my mother told him ahead of time while she stood over me and smiled

And this happened within the first 5 minutes of meeting this psychopath

My mother said
Give it to him rough Doc
He needs some tough love
Then she said Tough Love Doug, That's the name of the game

After that
Forced a number of medications on me causing me to fall asleep in class
ZOLOFT, RISPERDAL, STELLAZINE, EFFEXOR, REMORRHAN

He had me Hospitalized once for truancy
After I was so doped up that I couldn't even make it to school
Forest Hospital was the location

Then after my discharge
He called me and started threatening me with hospitalizations again accusing me of missing school that day too

If Dale Giolas lost his license
For violating a patient
Or touching one without their consent

Trust and believe
I believe he would
And if he lost his license

It is definitely a blessing to many
Because sooner or later that psychopath Giolas would overmedicate someone toxically and end up seriously hurting Then

Dude is a walking psychopath and a lawsuit waiting to happen

Dr Giolas prescribed a Benzodiazepine for my son knowing he was a Heroin user. Opiates and Benzodiazepines together are deadly! Dr Giolas should have known better! I’m glad I caught it in time.

I was also a patient there. Dr Giolas insisted I take Abilify after telling him about the bad experience I had. I tried it again and I should not have. I was falling asleep while driving to my therapist appointment. She saw my condition and I was too out of it to continue my visit. She quickly decided to drive me back home. She was upset about the effects this medication had on me. She immediately called Dr Giolas to share her concerns with him. She was upset about the whole thing and gave Dr Giolas a piece of her mind. He also prescribed a Benzodiazepine for me while I was taking Suboxone. Come to find out this is basically the same thing he did with my son. Needless to say, I stopped going to see De Giolas a few years before he lost his medical license. I’m not surprised this happened to him. He was playing with fire!

Dr. Giolas saved my life and he was my doctor for 28 years.. I was never hospitalized ever again after he became my doctor. He is incredibly brilliant in his knowledge of psychotropic medicines. Because of him I was able to return to work. He always remembered how my personal situation impacted my care. Was able to deal with and treat me appropriately with my psych meds which could have or did have impact on some other serious physical medical problems which I saw regular physician specialists for. My entire medical profile was very complex. He helped me tremendously because I have severe allergies to medications too. Didn't care for his secretary too much but could definitely understand why she was the way she was because of the type of patients he dealt with. I found it very sad and unfortunate that perhaps his personal life caused him to lose his license. He was very gifted in has knowledge of psychiatry and medications..

Dale Giolas was a nice person and seemed like he wanted to help. HOWEVER, he misdiagnosed me and prescribed anti-depression meds (Cymbalta) that I should have never been taking. That horrible medication caused intense mania / manic moods that turned me into someone I'm not and I did things I would normally never do with no appreciation for the consequences . Because of this horrible medication (and being Mis-diagnosed) I lost my marriage, lost friends and family, lost my career that I loved, faced criminal charges for theft that cost me $25,000 in legal fees, was suicidal more times than I care to remember, and spent money like it grew on trees. I'm still trying to recover from the HE** I was put through BUT refuse to fully blame Dale Giolas for what I went through. He was a human and made a mistake, it happens. Unfortunately his mistake led me down some dark roads that cost me so much but as a part of my current therapy I won't blame others for what happened to me.

I met Dr Giolas when I was going through an acute withdrawal syndrome coming off of prescribed morphine for chronic pain. I was unable to sleep for 10 days and was referred to Dr Giolas to get help with sleep. It was no easy battle but he stuck with me and tried many different medications until the correct one was found. I also suffer from severe depression and anxiety. Dr Giolas never gave up on me and never acted as though I was annoying even though I am a hard to treat, medication resistant patient. He always remembered where our conversations left off from the previous appointment a month prior and never belittled my problems but acted genuinely concerned about how best to treat me. I have felt a huge loss since his departure and look forward to when he returns to his practice where he is meant to be.

I have been seeing Dr. Giolas since i was fifteen years old. He was the best doctor i have ever had. He was very kind and helpful through my battle with alcoholism and addiction. He helped me get a prescription within a few hours for an antidepressant when i was borderline suicidal. He saved my life. I am very saddened that he has closed his practice but I will always remember him as the doctor who saved me when I was at the lowest point in my life
