We have seeing Dr V for almost a year. Right away I found him to be extremely kind and patient with us and all our questions. Because of Dr V and him being through with blood work and then a follow up MRI we found pituitary tumours which created a slew of endocrine issues. Without this Dr’s attention we don’t know what could have been.
Only downside is it can take a few days for a call back for prescriptions but that’s par for the course

Very dismissive man and while i addressed and vocalized my concerns he said i was being a barrier in my sons care then proceeded to tell me my concerns are ridiculous because nobody’s ever told him before he doesn’t listen. Based on the reviews here that appears to be a lie.

My daughter has been seeing dr. Vandermeulen since she was a newborn and he's been nothing but helpful . He genuinely cares about his patients. Only downside is you have to call weeks in advance if you're about to run out of medication to get a refill in-between visits.

Dr. V is amazing. My son had delayed onset puberty and constitutional delay of growth (which as it happens is not a disease, it just means you're going to be the very very last kid in class to grow) and Dr. V has been the best. He treated my 16 year old son in an age appropriate way and spent as much time as we needed. He is very straight forward and because he's so knowledgeable it's easy to trust him (even when you're a very nervous parent). He was careful in his approach, always gave lots of info and reassured our son even when he hadn't hit the 5 foot mark by grade 10. We wanted to see Dr. V until our son was fully grown but the nurse at the clinic at Mac seemed to be in a rush to discharge him as he was over 18. I've always felt a bit nervous about that as I would have liked Dr. V to keep an eye on things until our son was fully grown but last June was supposed to be our last appointment. I ran into Dr. V on the street the other day and told him some updates and he asked me to call his office so he could check in on the chart. He's that kind of guy. I just can't say enough about him. I love him and am so grateful that we were able to have him on our son's team :)

My daughters aged 3 & 4 have a very rare endocrine condition, and Dr. Vandermeulen is the only one who seems to know anything at all about it. He is warm and personable, answering any questions I have. And I have a lot of them.
My only complaint would be that his many interns never seem to read the files, and ask the same questions every single time.

I like this doctor. He's straight up. He's genuinely concerned with the well being of the child. When my 2 1/2 year old was diagnosed in 2004 this poor doctor put up with my husband and I calling him at all hours of the night..seriously, he was very patient about this!

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2004 and saw this Dr. for my first 4 years of care. I hated going their, my parents did too. We always had to wait in the office forever for him. He talked down to me and my parents and, I always felt, treated me as a case straight out of a textbook. You can't do this! Each patient is different and should be treated so! About a year after my diagnosis I was hospitalized, my blood sugars were all over the place and my parents and I couldn't figure out why. Dr. Vandermeulen told me that the only reason that this could be happening is if I was cheating and eating things that I wasn't supposed to. My blood sugars were stabilized and I was discharged. The next day they were up again with no explanation. My parents knew that I wasn't cheating and was taking my insulin. My dad stayed up all night trying to figure it out and realized that there was something wrong with my short-acting insulin pen! Thanks Dr. for assuming it was my fault!
