I came into Dr. Reid's care after sports injury resulted a burst fracture to my L5. He and his team performed an emergency L4-S1 fusion. It's incredible that I could come back from such a severe injury, I'm so grateful for his expertise. He answered all my questions in follow up appointments with patience and encouragement. We're lucky that we have Dr. Reid in our community.

A special shout out to his office staff who are well-organized, prompt and kind, which makes an enormous difference to the patient experience. Thank you to them for helping sort out my return to work / disability paperwork in such a timely manner allowing me to get back to work very quickly after surgery.

This Dr, R. Reid performed a Laminectomy on me recently which increased my lower backpain by 100%, after the operation. I found him to be unprofessional, vague on information and without any compassion during my time with him.

Dr. Reid performed my laminectomy surgery for a spinal tumour in October, 2022. I was in excruciating pain, with numbness and weakness in right leg, no longer able to walk even from bed to bathroom without a cane, and scared to death of diagnosis and surgery. Dr. Reid was kind and compassionate after the diagnosis on my telephone appointment with him before I came to Victoria for surgery. In person he was just as nice. The extreme increasing pain that had been part of my life for about 7-9 months was resolved immediately following my operation. He was as good as his word when he said my surgery would be within 4-5 weeks of diagnosis and it was. His bedside manner is lovely and he set my mind at ease fully after my first followup MRI at six months post-op. I've gone from being almost bedridden to taking on my life once more, with adjustments for weight bearing, completely manageable discomfort and minor residual numbness in my right leg. I walk everyday and use the pool throughout the week to keep my back, abdomen and legs as strong as I can. Thank you, Dr. Reid.

I was in horrible pain for years from a herniated disc and it got to the point that I could barely walk. Dr. Reid performed a microdiscectomy and I've been pain free for 7 years now. Amazing doc!

My dad had back surgery with Dr Reid a week ago and he is pain free and walking around well. We are all so pleased with the outcome and grateful the Dr Reid did such a great job.

Dr. Reid. The most professional, knowledgeable, understanding, kindness , and the most perfect beside manner. Dr Reid.took me on as a patient when others would not as mine was a redo of a previous surgery. He explains everything, answers any questions, and in a very busy environment took time to repair the problem that I have and the results are amazing. I had an old fusion that needed replacement and it was a long tough surgery and he got the job done...I will never be able to properly thank Dr. Reid but to just say this is an amazing man with amazing principals, and thank you so much. Dr. Reid has set me on a road.to recovery that will allow me to have an enjoyable retirement instead of a life of pain, and has put me on a journey of good health for my last few decades...so Dr. Reid, thank you, you will never know exactly how much you have done for me, and I feel like we are so lucky to have you as one of our foremost surgeons in Victoria and I'm glad the allure of money elsewhere has not stolen you away.. Dr. Reid is bright, energetic, and an amazing surgeon that I would recommend to anyone that is in my similar situation or any situation needed back or brain care.
