I was referred to Dr. Dharmalingam for my thyroid cancer radiation and further follow-up of cancer. Initially, he was a good doctor, ensuring prompt radiation treatment, explaining questions I had, calling soon after to let me know scan results. However, after I was considered NED (no evidence of disease), he did one neck scan at 6 months post NED, and then at our next appt said he WOULDN'T do a neck ultrasound until 5 years had passed because I am "young and healthy!" WTFFFF ! I had done much research on thyroid cancer and what good follow-up treatment of thyroid cancer entailed so I knew that included at the minimum a yearly neck scan for 5 yrs; since I saw Dr. Dharmalingam only twice a year, some time prior to my appt with him, I had gotten a neck ultrasound through my primary physician as I had neck pain. Low and behold, they found questionable spots on my neck scan. When I mentioned this to Dr.Dharmalingam, he actually got mad at me! He said he was the cancer doctor and I shouldn't have asked my primary. After this incident, I immediately asked to be discharged from his care and asked my primary for a new thyroid cancer endocrinologist. Good doctors encourage second opinions and collaborate and coordinate between you and the rest of your medical team, not risk cancer killing their patients because they need to stroke their own inflated ego. Please always advocate for yourself, research, and ask others for help!

I really liked Dr. Dharmalingam. He approved my referral after another endocrinologist denied me. He was very thorough with his exam, and ordered me a BUNCH of blood work because he realized how frustrated I was to have so many undiagnosed symptoms. He was super nice and personable, and seemed knowledgable.

I've had him as a doctor for over 5 years now, he and his staff are phenomenal. They answer any questions I have and clearly care about the patients. He personally called me to inform me about good news in my reports and was genuinely happy. I don't understand the comments about waiting time, he has many patients and the most I've ever waited was 15 minutes. He gives quality time to his patients and addresses all their needs and truly roots for them. It's clear its not just a paycheck to him or his staff. I would highly recommend them.

Terrible Dr. Rushes through appt, doesn't listen to anything you say. When your not well he'll just tell you to go for blood work and sit back and watch. Doesn't ACTUALLY DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT! No suggestions, no help, no nothing. TERRIBLE!

They never pick up the phone, I don't know if they are short of staff for the last 6 months, but it is awful. I shouldn't have to spend the entire day, and EVERY HOUR trying to call them for an appointment.

I had this doctor for more than 10 years. I used to work in Toronto, so I opted to make my quarterly appointments in the morning time: actually the very first one @ 8:30 am. This was also my attempt to avoid any waiting time (excuse). When I used to arrive around 8:20 am or so, he never made it on time. When asked from the staff, the main excuse was that they were having a staff meeting( including all doctors). Even after 10 years, he ever showed up on time. Last year around May, 2019, he was late by more than 50 minutes. Thrre was another patient (his client) maybe in her 70s waiting for her appointment. Since I was with someone with special needs, she offered me her place since this individual started to feel agitated due to such a ling time in that room. I wanted to leave earlier but then I thought it would be same even I came at other time. Mind you this is paid parking premises. When i asked from him about the time: he got unhappy and instead of apologizing in wasting my time: he threatened/suggested to look for another doctor since in his own words, "I was with another patient/client". My appointment went from less than 10 minutes to close to 6 minutes. Not sure how could you make such a scheduling blunder by making your appointment mess than 10 minutes for each of his clients. He is egotistical AH that you should avoid if you could. I did not find him any particularly intelligent/ sharp in his field. Most of time I had to bring up any blood works issues to his attention. If you read about your issues prior to going to your appointments, you might better understanding but then they (doctors) do not seem have time. I could have given him '0' had there been an option but if you do not care uch about time and the analysis, he might be ok for you..
If a person in his professional line if work does not understand how to apologize for wasting your most valuable commodity, time, I would not be interes6in him/her professional value.
