Ridiculous wait times every time. After waiting an absurd amount of time, Dr. Berkey will spend very little time with you, and has no interest in your questions. I've had to literally chase him down the hall to get a question answered. He just talks at you and then walks out of the room. Time will tell on the results of my surgery, but still in pain with swelling 4 months post-op.

Unbelievable wait times...my appt. was 9:45am, I got called in at 10:35am and waited another 15mins for the doctor. The waiting room is super small and they play old reruns of I Love Lucy over and over? Doctor didn't seem to care about my hour wait time, didn't pay much attention to my foot/ankle (on second visit)and spent a total of about 7 minutes with me. I will not be back...

I would personally not recommend this doctor for any procedure. I experienced both physical and psychological damage. What was supposed to be a simple ingrown toenail surgery turned into a total nightmare that began in November, 2011, and is still going on. I wish I had looked at Dr. Berkey’s ratings from other patients before I chose him. He over-cauterized my ingrown toenail with acid. This caused a large wound and a toenail that stopped growing. I went to the ER many times, had 1+ months of expensive wound care visits, 2nd opinions, and antibiotic costs, etc. My wound care doctor said the nail was not growing! The nail, over time, turned yellow and began to fall off! Only the future will determine the extent of the damage he caused or if it will ever grow again. His office staff is rude and the office waits are long as well. Avoid if you can.

Eventually had a neuroma removed from my foot. All went well. The office runs a little behind on the times I was there but the visits went well. The foot healed fine. I would recommend him again. No complications from the surgery.

I went in with pain in my ankle. After a very timely wait, and dealings with a very rude front desk clerk the nurse took x-rays and told me to wait for the doctor. He diagnosed me with a fractured ankle and a torn tendon. He Prescribed me some anti-inflamitory medication and ordered me a boot. He didn't even look at my foot the first appointment, I had to actually force him to look at my ankle on the third visit (4 weeks later) since the swelling level had grown to cause extreme pain. I had yet to recieve my boot at this point. He finally gave me the boot and prescribed a different medication. The swelling did go down after a period of taking the medicine, and I have regained mobility in my ankle. However, I am very displeased with my experience in this office. The Doctor is very hectic and makes me feel I am unimportant to him and that rather get to a different patient. I will not return, and refuse to recommend anyone here.

I've never had an on time appt here. Visited for 3 months for a stress fracture and each time it was 30-45 min just to get called in. Then it was x-rays or a quick exam by the assistant and then another lengthy wait for Dr. Berkey. He's very knowledgable and diagnosed me very quickly. The staff/office is not well run. I left a sweater there once and called that afternoon asking if I could pick up in the morning and the clerk said it would be in a front cabinet. I got there 5 minutes before they officially opened. Dr. Berkey was there but said I'd have to wait for the staff. he actually closed the inner door on me and acted like he was very displeased I was there. I convinced him to check for my sweater since I was late for work.overall very odd. I agree with other comments that the staff can be very brusque and unhelpful. There's no process in place to give patients a copy of x-rays. You have to ask, then they write it on a post-it and then you have to call.

I have deformed toes on left and right foots, deformity called hammertoe on second, third, and fourth toes on both foots. Thankfully my insurance is freaking badass they pay 90% and obviously the rest I pay, total cost, $4,435 per foot and i only pay 850 for both operations and what I like about his office are the staff, magazines they have there for their patients and the two most likes about dr. Berky are both operations went perfect and after surgery he told me I can go for a check up anytime and any day as I pleased, so now with both operations a success I am able finally to run long distances and run faster and no more pain because of my deformities.

Very disappointed. Made an appt during the week between Christmas & New Year's for Jan 12. Was called a week later and told they needed to change my appt because Dr. Berkey no longer wanted to work after 4:30pm. Okay, I get that, but told them they needed to honor the appts they'd already made. I kept my appt, but was left waiting 30 minutes and the staff was rude when I arrived. Upon entering room, Dr. Berkey said "Nice to see you again, it's been a while." I replied, "Actually, you've never seen me, I'm a new patient." I was a first-time patient, not impressed. I have a follow-up appt scheduled next week, but am cancelling today.

I've been dealing with a foot issue (think 'bone spurs between the toes') for over 10 years and really thought there was no solution. A co-worker recommended Dr. Berkey. During the consultation, he assured me that he could correct it and I would be able to wear my regular shoes after the same-day surgical procedure. He was absolutely correct and I'm SO happy! During the final post-op appointment, we continued our previous conversations about my having MS. On occasion, my right foot will 'drop' which causes me to fall. He suggested I try a foot brace and if I didn't like it, there'd be no charge. The brace is awesome; having been to doctors for 40 years re: MS, it was never mentioned and, frankly, since it didn't happen all the time, I didn't think 'foot drop' applied to me. Thank you, Dr. Berkey! You're the best and I heartily recommend you! Carol B., Dallas, TX
