The first day I met Dr. Thrasher and shook his hand, I knew he was the man to perform my procedure. He was confident, answered all my questions before I asked them and within 10 minutes I made the commitment. A radical prostatectomy can cause all kinds of collateral damage with a 9 month to 2 year recovery period by many estimates. Dr. Thrasher told me he would shoot for 100 percent recovery with little collateral damage, and that is exactly what he delivered! after 3 months I was at 95% and I'm happy to say that today it is 100%. Seven months after my surgery, on this Thanksgiving day, I applaud this man and his skill. I thank the staff and everyone involved.

After my initial consult with Dr. Thrasher and his team I found his approach to me, a newly diagnosed prostate cancer, to be excellent. He was thoroughly informative, anticipated nearly every question I had and possessed a wonderful compassionate professional understanding of a newly diagnosed patient’s nervous frame of mind. I left my appointment feeling confident in knowing we now had a plan and with a sense that a weight had been lifted from my shoulders.

Professional, expert, caring urologist. The best in the mid-west. Does a wonderful job of teaching the medical students and residents. If you have a diagnosis of prostate cancer see him before making your treatment decision. He knows the latest and best treatments. One of his professional passions is defeating prostate cancer.

Dr. J. Brantley Thrasher from KU Med is THE best doctor I have ever encountered. I HIGHLY recommend going to him, even for the most minor surgery. He's an expert in the field, and very well respected in the urology community. He changed my life greatly, and I will forever be thankful.
