Even though my initial care was with midwives, Dr. Barrett was amazing and I feel very lucky that it was her my care was transferred to. She was very calming and comforting. She is an amazing doctor. I am sad that she is no longer at SMH, if I was going to have another baby I definitely would have wanted to have her!!

AMAZING doctor. She worked so well with the midwives and nurses, had fantastic bedside manner and is extremely good at her job. I unfortunately had to have a c-section but she did a great job and the incision is "perfect" as many nurses have told me. I work in healthcare myself and know first hand what most doctors are like and she is definately one of the best I have ever come across and consider myself VERY lucky to have had her! The only disappointment was that she resigned from SMH so I can't have her for my next delivery

Dr. Barrett was the best doctor I could have asked for. We had planned a normal delivery for my son and when I went into labour, the nursing staff monitored my progress and were quick to notice that my son's HR was decelerating and not returning as quickly after each contraction. Dr. Barrett was quickly notified and spoke with us about our choices. She was very kind and gave us all the information we required to make an educated choice. We felt very comfortable in her hands and had a very positive experience.

Dr Barrett was the best Dr I have ever had. She was remarkable with her bed side manner and was personally invested in my well being and took the time to listen to me when I needed a Dr to take me seriously. She instantly noticed changes with swelling in my face and immediately sent me for testing and I was brought back in that evening. She worked with the nursing staff and bed allocating to ensure a bed for me. With limited nursing staff in the hospital and only one other OBGYN it is amazing at how great she is. She also took the time to teach mid wifery students and worked really well with everyone making it a happy environment for a stressed mom to be. She will be greatly missed asset to the SMDH.

Dr. Barrett was empathetic, understanding and knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable in her care, and put at ease during every encounter with her. I was transferred from her care to another doctor as she is leaving the hospital, and was very sad to hear it. I will miss her ability to set me at ease and allow me to be a participant in my own care.

Dr Barrett is the best doctor that I have ever worked with. She supports educated patient choice and truly works in a non-authoritarian manner - something that is very rare in this day and age. She is very supportive of breastfeeding and able to give practical help in it as well, her statistics for good outcomes are the same as her colleagues, and her cesarean rate is around 10% - when everyone else in the area is up around 30%. If I had 10 more babies and needed a doctor, I would go to her - she is the doctors alternative to a midwife.
