Avoid this doctor. Unless you appreciate being treated very disrespectfully. Should not be allowed to work in our system. Worst of the worst, amazed this guy is allowed to work at Fraser Health. Doubt he would be tolerated anywhere else. If some lawyers need being disbarred, this doctor needs send packing. How do we allow such guy in our system? Puzzled....

Horrible experience with this doctor. On my first consultation, he was insulting (told me I looked like a man) and not helpful whatsoever. When I had my colonoscopy at a later date, they did not sedate me - when I exclaimed how much pain I was in, they continued the procedure without any concern for my wellbeing. I will never be going back to this doctor and I would not recommend to anyone.

Dr Shete performed a mastectomy, terrible job, I have a boob under my arm, surgery is a mess, I am going to see another Surgeon to try & get my mess rectified. He is arrogant & flippant when you asked him questions. When I asked him about the mess, he said was fluid & my body would absorb it, has been 5 months & I still have all this extra lumps, even my family Dr. couldn't believe the mess, & referred me to another Surgeon

Very professional. Found him to be "right to the point" and had all the time in the world to listen to my concerns. Quite the character too!!

Dr Shete is arrogant, rude, extremely strange and difficult to consult with. He operated on my 10 year old and was extremely in appropriate with how he addressed her. Lacking the basic social skills to put her at ease. My inner mother alarm bells were off the charts when he did a full exam on her. He insisted two nurses witness all his exams - there is something not right going on there.
The night nurse told me in confidence the nursing staff complained about him being too liberal with the rectal exams and has since "got better" - what's up with that?!?! I would seriously reconsider having this guy on staff. After talking to him each time I left feeling spoken down to and placated. Please if you need abdominal surgery avoid Langley hospital! Go to Surrey or Children's! I wish I'd known. The pediatric nurses were amazing however! They made they provided me & my child with so much comfort. They are truly amazing. So my staff rating is high - but only because of them.

For those of you only to willing to find fault in your
interpretation of proper deference , the color of the
wallpaper, and/or any perceived reluctance by him to
to treat you as any other than professionally as a patient,
- I respectfully contend that you need to go without competent,
subsidized medical care a while longer. I don't know this guy
from Adam, (albeit I will be visualizing his 'bow tie' in
my sleep for years to come), but all I received from him
was the upper limits of professional concern, competence
and empathy for my well being during difficult medical circum-
stance. You could do a hell of a lot worse than Dr. Shete, and
you probably will. For my part, I feel a bit honored to be his patient.

Dr. Shete never provides clear explanations , has a smug attitude, and has very poor bed side manner! I visited him for a consultation, and received nothing but convoluted answers to simple questions. He then proceeded to laugh at my misunderstandings and clarification questions. I'm a nurse myself, and am currently going back to school to get my MD. Having worked with many surgeons in my career, I found his communication skills to be completely sub par. And yes, he is on his phone constantly throughout the appointment (though I can excuse this - I know how busy surgeons can be). He was generally very flippant and uncaring. I honestly think a lot of these reviews that praise him must be absolutely fake. It's doctors like Dr. Shete that pissed me off enough to get myself back in school to show people how a doctor SHOULD treat his patients - with kindness, clarity, and genuine motivation to heal. These are not qualities possessed by Dr. Shete. The consultation was as far as I will go. I am currently looking for another surgeon to preform my surgery. If he was this uncaring in the consultation, I shutter to think how sloppy he must be in the OR.

Found this Dr. to be rude and truly unprofessional. In the middle of my consultation, he picked up his cell phone and proceeded to make a call. (thought he was calling his wife). His mannerism is rude and would not go back to him if he was the only surgeon in Langley.
