I do not recommend this doctor. He sort of pretended to know that he knew the answer. But he really did not know much.

My experience was awful. Dr. Sacks was great, but the nurses and staff were terrible. They didn't send my lab work to the right place, so my insurance didn't cover it. And then when I tried to get the results of the lab work (twice), no one seemed to know how to give me the results. They said Dr. Sacks would call, but he never did (after twice calling and leaving messages). So, 5 weeks after my consult, I have been wrongly charged for test results I have not even received. And I was ready to go ahead with the Dr's prescribed treatment! Do yourself a favor and stay away from this practice!

Do not use him. I had a pap smear done - he did not call with my results - and two months later I decided of my own initiative just to keep copies of all my health records so requested my file and when it came back I saw I had an abnormal pap smear that Dr. Sacks had never called to inform me of. When I spoke to him about it, he tried to pass the blame off and said he was also upset that "no one" had called to tell me (should the doctor not inform patients of abnormal test results?) It is two months later and I am just now finding out that I have stage one cervical cancer - wish I had known two months ago. He is negligent - go elsewhere.

Dr Sacks is willing to treat many patients that other REs won't accept (including me who was kicked to the curb by my last clinic for my high FSH). I didn't get pregnant, but am grateful he gave me a chance.

Wonderful doctor and person! very patient, professional and thorough in his work. I particularly liked his calm attitude during our stressful IVF treatment. Always smiling and positive. He responds to emails fast and answered all our questions. I felt in very good hands the whole time. The IVF nurses/staff at CFA are a whole different story unfortunately...very impersonal, almost rude, and expect you to follow on the details of your treatement yourself...they actually made many mistakes and I had to closely follow-up on every single detail of my treatment.

Dr. Sacks provides personally and clinically tailored care. He takes medically challenging cases and cares deeply about outcomes. His explanations are detailed and sensitive. I wish that they could be filmed. The office operations need improvement. If I had not gone through cycles at another center that was like a factory operating with military precision I might have been confused at some points but staff was very accessible. Would refer my best friend.

Dr. Sacks is very personable, extremely knowledgeable, reassuring, & very kind. He personally did my monitoring appointments, called when he said he would/returned calls, & answered my many questions. However, he only told me 2 days before my retrieval he was not going to do my transfer - & told me during an ultrasound! On the downside, the clinic staff and processes at Columbia are not good, & you really have to manage the process e.g. mistake was made in instructions for our protocol setting us back a month, there is NO email communication, nurse refused to provide typed list of meds, protocol was hand written photo copy calendar, I had to ask for primary nurse to be assigned as VMs were not passed on,etc. Our insurance did not cover IVF, & the finance people were terrible. The practice needs to work on the WHOLE process and integrated experience. IVF was unsuccessful & I was subsequently accepted onto shared risk at another practice who have the whole process perfected.

My fondness for Dr. Sacks is admittedly biased because he gave me the miracle baby I had struggled for after 7 previous failed IVF cycles at other centers. Despite my advanced age, DOR, and previous failures, he didn't turn me away. He is friendly and knowledgeable with a great bedside manner. He also uses more progressive protocols that other area REs have not yet adopted. Unlike other centers, I received a lot of personal attention and was monitored/treated by Dr. Sacks at each visit. I even had the luxury of communicating questions to Dr. Sacks via email...quite unheard of in any field of medicine! I highly recommend him.
