he is self opinionated and judgemental. He is lucky that he has good staff. I would like to know how to complain about him

i'm sure he knows what he's doing but he makes you dig for it. be ready to take control of the meeting to get your needs met

Golbey has treated my sister for many years. In that time he has managed to blame years of illness on 'depression'. Rather than test her for Leukemia (despite having every symptom and marker) he repeatedly misinformed her and misdiagnosed her for years. **Also important note...according to another Dr, Golbey does not have hospital rights and does not upload your files to Interior Health. Therefore if you wind up in emerg there is no viable information available to them. He is forgetful, uninterested and blames you if you find out he should have told you something and didn't. Or he says someone else should have told you. Do NOT go to this man if you are needing tests done of any type.

Dr.Golbey has been my family doctor since I was 1 years old, I'm 22 and he's still a helpful, caring, understanding, and has a bit of humour on hand. I can tell him, or ask him anything. He doesn't push medications, and is very prompt on the referral letter if you need to get into a psychiatrist. I hope he never retires!!! :)

He is Judgmental, blaming, forgetful, scattered & uncaring. He will tell you something one visit, then turn around and tell you the complete opposite the next time. He misses major pieces of information because he only hears what he wants to. He would rather keep his ego in tact than help a patient heal. As mentioned below, he blames his patients for things they have no control over. He does not care how his improper judgments & behavior affects the population he is serving.

A doc who gives you his opinion and then lets you make your own decision. My family doc since '89. Does not do pregnancy care or deliveries, refers within office for that. Has always been thoughtful, caring and honest. I am not afraid to ask him about anything. His office staff is stellar.

Very polite - on time - cares about what is appening - very knowledgeable about what you medical conditon is and looks for results to what you need to make things better.

I was 'date' raped at a party seven years ago after I had been drinking. My best friend put me to bed and I was vomitting, I passed out only to wake up to an acquaintance having sex with me. When I told this to Dr. Golbey his exact words were, 'that'll teach you.' He never tested me for any diseases or recommended counselling. He perscribed the morning after pill after I asked for it. Months later I went to a different dr. who sent me to counselling and checked me for diseases, it turns out the**** had given me Chlamydia. I spent the next five years worried that I would not be able to have children due to damage. Thankfully I got pregnant two years ago. While I agree that drinking too much and 'passing out' is not advisable, I was young, at a friend's house and it was with people I knew and trusted. The last thing any dr in his right mind should have said is, 'that'll teach you.'
