I have been seeing Dr Cassidy now for several years after suffering many years from depression on and off in my life. My counselor suggested I see him and try the TMS procedure, which I did. For me it worked after a just a few treatments even though I did complete the entire number of treatments recommended. I was very skeptical of the procedure but I'm so thankful it has worked. Dr. Cassidy is expensive and he is outside of my insurance approved doctors, but "you get what you pay for" in this instance. He gives me his cell phone number and encourages me to call when ever I need him. I have only had to use that one time and he called me back immediately.
He also helped a friend of mine and got him in with an immediate appointment. He is a very intelligent doctor and knows his medications!
As for the comments about his receptionists....let me tell you, some of the other doctors I've been to have some "kids" running their front office who are not professional. Dr Cassidy's staff is professional. Just think about the types of patients they have to deal with daily? They must be protective of the doctor and I'm sure it's not an easy job.
I give Dr Cassidy a 5 star rating!

I've been seeing Dr. Cassidy for over a year now. He is the first psychiatrist I've ever met who really took an interest in what I had to say and responded to me and my feelings. He recently upped his prices (guess he needs another sports car) and I can't afford to see him any more. I agree with another reviewer-- he WILL charge you for everything he can; a letter of your patient history, phone calls, anything. His office manager comes across as very rude and cold but it's just her tone. She's actually a nice lady so TRY not to be put off by her. My review boils down to this: he puts his wallet before his patient's health. I owed him money for a bounced check, was making payments in good faith then was cut off my prescriptions until I could cough up a good $400 for him. HE of all people knew the side effects of stopping my meds cold turkey and how dangerous it is. This did not matter to him. I really wish his attitude were different. As a doc, he is great; as a person? Not so much.

Dr. Cassidy really cared about me and my problems. He took the extra time to meet with family members to explain what was going on and help them understand my problems. I have been to a lot of psychiatrists and he is by far the best.

Dr. Cassidy puts his fee above his patients' health. He will withhold free "Lilly Cares" medication if you cannot afford to pay his fee (even if you have a previous history of suicidality). He will try to sell you a $12,000 procedure called Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). Scientific evidence has shown that TMS is only about 54% effective and lasts for only 6 months (maximum). Furthermore, patients who receive TMS are just as likely to relapse as those who have not received TMS. He does NOT work on a sliding scale. He will NOT refer you to a sliding scale psychiatrist. He will charge you for phone calls. He does NOT accept insurance. He is arrogant, clinical, and not at all interested in his patients' mental health; this guy should've become an accountant. His staff is heartless, unhelpful, and tactless; they are completely disrespectful on the telephone. Overall, I would rate Dr. Cassidy and his staff as the worst I have ever seen, and that is saying something!
