I had an extremely underwhelming experience with Dr.Hong Yan. I went into the office with high hopes from the reviews. I had some skin issues and she explained she would stick needles in the pimples...and that was about it....which sounds just petrifying to a person with skin issues already without much more of an explanation. She didn't check my pulse or anything that i was told is typically done by an acupuncturist other than looking at my tongue from afar. I had a terrible gut feeling about it so i decided not to go along with treatment afterward. The whole "consultation" lasted MAYBE 5 or 6 minutes...literally. We went to the front to pay and on her desk to the left there was a sign (which i would assume she has probably updated at this point) that said "Consultation........$20" So when she tried to charge me $45 i was a bit appalled not only for the fact that the sign said something different but it seemed almost criminal to be charging someone $45 dollars to talk with them for literally 5 minutes....If you're going to charge someone that much give them a bit of an experience at least. I pointed out that the sign said $20 and she stated thats with treatment. I had no clue what she was talking about and she said "Thats what it says on the website".....which is true, but i hadn't memorized or checked the price list on her website, i was going off what the paper said right in front of me. After a few embarrassing moments of going back and forth in front of one of her customers sitting and waiting she finally charged me $20.
I can't say if what she does is effective or not, since i never received a treatment but just by the manner in which she conducts business i would never go back or recommend.
