He certainly has proven his ability to do harm rather than do NO harm. Every surgery resulted in another to fix problems from the original surgeries causing me financial hardship for his financial gain. My life has drastically changed after putting trust in this man. I was active, fit, and confident before this nightmare. My toes are mangled and full of oversized hardware, my calf muscle never recuperated after achilles tendon "repair" surgery, I have constant severe heel pain and balance issues.
I plan every step navigating the shortest route. Vacations, playing with grandchildren, cleaning my house, laundry, EVERYTHING is so difficult when you struggle to walk and certainly will never run again. I curse him every morning before I get up to struggle through another day.

Dr. Hyer is the best Doctor I have been to. A few years ago I was having constant heel pain and he told me it was plantar fasciitis. I was convinced I had a heel spur or broken heel bone. He took the time to reassure me that it was common and explained what it was. He’s very down to earth and patient. He suggested better shoes with arch supports and said if it did not get better to come back for possible orthotics. It did get better and took about 3 months to improve. About 8 months ago it returned so I went back to see him. He asked about shoes and arch support and I admitted to returning to my old bad habits. No lectures just kindness and suggestions. Mentioned orthotics for consistency. So I got them there at the office the same day. I also bought good shoes the same day . It was so convenient. Again the pain went away. I will always recommend Dr. Hyer to my friends.

A year ago, I was assaulted by a customer where I worked, suffered an achilles tendon injury. Dr. Hyer seemed to realize I was also suffering from PTSD from the attack trauma, but his assistant did not. I had to see his assistant more than I saw him. His assistant made me feel like the assault was my fault. I left each visit feeling like because I was female, I caused this assault.
I had to testify in criminal court from this attack. His assistant sent me back to work too early. Dr. Hyer was puzzled by this the next time I saw him, but did nothing about it. He told me it could take a year to totally heal. I was in so much pain, I could not do PT or work. I ended up having to quit my job and get a new doctor. Since I was worker's comp, I was treated poorly. Dr. Hyer needs to pick his assistants more carefully. He needs to manage them better as well.
It took me a full year and 5 months to heal enough so that I could get a new job and work again.
The staff at this Polaris Parkway office were not friendly, but were professional. Their biggest shortcoming was not being knowledgeable to give me direction about this worker's comp injury. I had never had an injury at work before, and I sure didn't cause this one. I did not elect to get assaulted while doing my job.

claims to know a lot about ankle problems, but he doesn't. Messed up my ankle and now I have to have a third surgery to correct items from two previous surgeries he did on my ankle.

I had a torn achilles tedon and an inflammed bursa sak and had developed a bone spur. Dr. Hyer performed surgery and fixed all of this. This is a very hard surgery to recover from, and it has taken almost two years and I am almost back to normal. I would highly recommend Dr. Hyer.

Dr Hyer treated my severe lisfranc fracture and dislocation. My recovery has been far superior to the stories I heard and read from others with a similar injury. I am very thankful that I was referred to Dr Hyer and would highly recommend him.

Botched endoscopic surgery to remove bone spurs on the sides of the heal area of left foot. Damaged the tibial sensory nerve to the bottom of the foot and now, I am unable to feel the bottom of the left foot, have trouble walking through the pain, have to take 80.00 in medication for burning, pins and needle pain and supplement per month to aid nerve repair. Was sent to associate neurosurgeon who was unable to do anything to repair the nerve. This is a life altering, irreparable surgical mistake made by Hyer and I wish I had some kind of legal recourse. If I could, I would reverse my decision to have had this surgery, by this doctor.

I have been to Dr Hyer for several problems. Always very informative and helpful. I've had several family members to him over the years and all have been very pleased. I can't understand these couple negative reviews. Nowhere near our experience.
