I had a colonoscopy; all was well for me, and was advised to get my siblings to have one as well. One of them ended up have mega pollups, and that lead to a Stage 3 Kidney Cancer diagnosis. Her mass has been removed and she is cancer free. We thank Dr. Lewis every day for suggesting that to me.

Bilateral laproscopic hernia surgery. The hospital nursing staff had tremendous respect for this surgeon., and that says alot. Just don't expect much in the way of chit-chat. If I ever need surgery again, I'm heading to Dr Lewis.

I was nervous and squeamish about my colonoscopy, but I have to say my experience with Dr Lewis and the staff at Lions Gate Hospital was only just short of enjoyable. The whole experience was remarkably quick, stress and totally pain free; 10 minutes of chatting with smiling, friendly and helpful staff was followed by "this anaesthetic is very quick acti.... " ------ "Mr Russell - your wife is here to pick you up". Literally. I checked in at 7:15, and was ready to go by 9:00. By far the worst part is the enforced fast the day before - even the pico salax was predictable and effective without causing any discomfort of any sort. I can honestly say I have no physical sensation whatsoever of the procedure having taken place. An excellent healthcare experience! Great job by all the staff I met.

Thank God for Dr. R. Lewis, he literally saved my butt ( pun intended ). I was rushed to the emergency department of Lions Gate on Tues. March 8 th 2016, suffering from intense bowel cramps/pain. On Thurs. another Doctor ( I won't mention) had talked to me about my symptoms for a total of two minutes and had decided I needed a colostomy operation. I was given a nasal gastric tube and was told I would be in the O.R. on Saturday morning. Then Dr. Lewis (not my Doctor) walked by and asked why the N.G. tube was in my nose so early? I told Dr. Lewis I could feel my descending colon gurgling and I believe the 72 hours of antibiotic I.V. therapy was working. End of long storey, by Sunday my intestines were clear and working fine. I was discharged on Monday, you might say I just missed the bullet by inches. THANK YOU DR. LEWIS !!!
