Doesn’t listen/ god complex/ only wants to increase med / refuses to acknowledge that meds have side effects/ thinks what works for one person will work for others/

IOP program. I do not want to see him again. He is not helpful. I feel like I can't talk to him.

I have been seeing Dr. Babbar as my psychiatrist for a number of years. He has been patient, respectful, and helpful to me. I trust his knowledge base, his ethics, and his genuine concern for my well being. He has supported me in being able to better care for myself.

Seemed to have decided my case was a joke case before I got in the room. Started the conversation with something like 'your file is all over the place' and then expected me to be able to explain it, even though as a patient I had no idea what my file said, thereby what he was talking about. I felt like I was on trial more than anything, being treated like 'just another young person looking for attention' which couldn't have been further from the truth. But he questioned everything I said. I was back in the hospital within a month.

I am sure that Dr. Babbar is very intelligent...but I'm also sure that he judged my case way too quickly. Maybe if you look like someone who should be taken seriously you're fine.

Never remembered me or about me, obviously didn't consult his case notes, mansplained what I was going through to me, told me that my diagnosis didn't matter because it was all about the drugs, told me my medications needed no change and I just needed to work on my skills even while I was suicidal, denies that I made a suicide attempt and downplayed it because I didn't go to the hospital, once forgot to send a refill in to my pharmacy on Friday and I suffered horrible withdrawal all weekend, made no suggestions for changes in my medications even though I told him every visit for two years that I was suffering. I got a new doctor and within months, my life and health changed dramatically. I survived because of her. Imagine how great my quality of life could have been had I not been seeing him and not been afraid to confront him and ask for a new doctor

I was extremely impressed by Dr. Babbar. I've seen a lot of psychiatrists lately and he was the best prepared. He made me feel safe, in the sense that he wasn't going to push a drug onto me and wasn't going to try and change everything to drastically either. Highly recommended overall.
