My daughter (who has Multiple Sclerosis) and I have loved Dr. McKay from the start, but were getting increasingly frustrated about her office practices: numerous unreturned phone calls, incorrect billing, major insurance issues! I just called the office and found out through a recording that they are closing their practice next month. I have insurance questions, a balance, and several other issues to settle and I could not even leave voicemail, even though the recording says they are still seeing patients. They did give a fax number for our new doctors to fax requests for medical records release. This is very sad to me but I guess I'm not surprised. A medical practice with substantial administrative issues is a serious problem not to mention risk. I hope things are satisfactorily resolved for Dr. McKay and that she has a peaceful and happy future. We will miss her.

I really like Dr. McKay's bedside manner. However, both times I've come in for an appointment and been prescribed something, she doesn't call in the prescription. I've driven to the pharmacy only to find out that the prescription hasn't been called in. The first time this happened, I called her on the number provided on the practice's answering machine and she picked up immediately and called in the prescription within 15 minutes. However, the second time, I was unable to reach her. The Avalon Medical Group answering machine message says that you can leave a message, but you cannot. I have tried on several occasions (the two times that she did not call in the prescriptions and twice when I was calling during business hours to make my first appointment). I am incredibly frustrated and have to wait another day to be treated for the illness that I have because she can't get it together to call in prescriptions. If this happened once, I wouldn't write a review, but she's 0/2 now.

I feel that Dr.McKay is not very professional at all. She acts as if she doesn't know how to run her own office therefore allows her "so called-ghetto" office manager to steer the ship. They lose medical records and charge ppl for everything. It's all about money there but yet they can't keep a clean fishtank.Go figure. They change employees everytime I go back in there..What's the deal with such a high turn over rate. I spoke with a patient once in the waiting room who informed me that she didn't even call him about his lab results....and he takes blood thinners and ended up in the hospital. That day was going to be his last day. I spoke with a friend recently as well and he was saying that she has been calling about a bill and the office manager will never return her call. I would think twice about going to this office. Like the other person said....she seems one way on the outside but once you meet her she seems like a lost soul. I see their office hours have decreased...wonder y??

Dr. McKay is the best doctor I've ever had. I've been going to her for over 10 years. She is compassionate, caring, she LISTENS, she is concerned. She will work with you until she finds the solution or perscription you need. I have recommended her to many people and they have all agreed. She is truly unique in the medical profession.

her prices are reasonable and Dr. McKay is very friendly and spends a good amount of time with me when I go to see her. She listens intently which is something I love!

Dr may seem like she has a lot to offer at the begining, but watch out-I waited and waited 2 months to get a prescription decision from her and nothing (moved to another Dr.) I am healthy, but what about those poor people in wheelchair I have seen in her office-wondering how fast they are been helped?? Dr has an outside that is deceiving and tries to charge for anything they can sqeeze. The office manager, Liz Andrews is horrible: rude, talks down to patients, hateful, acts like she is the physician and talks medicine on behalf of MD. It is very difficult to make an appointment at this office, they charge $40 if you are 5 mins late, will try to charge money if you need a copy of your health records, there is only one physician, so you will not be seen if you need to be seen immediately, simply you are in bad luck if you have a serious medical condition, the feeling is that the office is there for the money and they do not care about the patient. Go to another physician seriosly.

She is the best doctor I have had in my life. Been going to here for over 10 years now and even though I have moved to the other side of the triangle I still travel back to see her. After so many arrogant and unconcerned doctors I can't say how grateful I am for someone with her dedication. She is a doctor who genuinely cares and looks for the solutions to long term problems before they are huge ones. When more time is needed she just spends it rather than pushing me out the door and requiring another appointment.

her business comes before you as a patient. the reason why i don't like her is because she actually tries really hard to come across as "super-altruistic" when in reality she's the opposite. so she's being superficially appealing while in reality her motives are elsewhere. she is unable to nip problems at the bud.

As long as Dr. McKay is in practice, I will never go to another physician for my general health and yearly physicals. She is very competent and is always concerned about my overall health -- emotional, psychological and physical. At my first visit she could tell right away that gynecological exams were extremely tough for me, so she took her time, made sure I was comfortable, kept reassuring me, and never pushed me beyond my comfort level. She has a fabulous sense of humor, and that certainly helps when I'm donning the dreaded hospital gown, and she's dressed to the nines. Aside from my yearly physical, I have seen her for backaches, skin problems, and even depression. She's been helpful and comforting with each. She never rushes me and is always making sure my questions are answered to my satisfaction. Great doctor!
