I think she means well but impossible to get an appointment. No one answers the office phone. Best way to see her is get admitted to hospital but I was hoping to see her BEFORE I landed in hospital.

For a colonoscooy it went really well. Staff were great, dealt with quickly, once I finally got an appointment . Only thing is, when I woke up I was informed by someone? that polyps were found and removed. I know docs are super busy but it would have been nice to have an opportunity to ask the doc any questions I had. I am stressing about cancer until I can discuss results with family doc :(

This doctor's office is dysfunctional. My referral was sent over by my GP and noone followed up for 3 months. When I checked back with my GP, I was assured the referral had been sent and they gave me Dr. Faris phone number to followup myself. I have left several messages. I have asked for a date and time for colonoscopy appt and instructions. I provided my emIl. I asked them to just bood the darn appointment and tell me what I need to do to prepare. The mailbox is full. The doctor is on holidays. The medical receptionist makes absolutely no effort to connect with you or email you or give you an appointmentor answer your questions. Extremely frustrating!!! I have given up trying now !!!

Dr. Faris deserves the pinnacle of all accolades for exhibiting shockingly excellent professionalism.
It would not be a misnomer to call it the “Sherlock Award”.
At 8pm on June 12, 2023 Dr. Faris met my wife in Southlake for the first time. Dr. Faris was well read.
Her communication proved she had carefully deliberated my wife’s history, imaging and blood results and other doctors’ reports on my wife. Dr. Faris explained the procedure she would be doing in a few days. Albeit there was good reason the procedure was done, Dr. Faris was convinced from that first meeting that nothing unusual would be found and that my wife was suffering from Addisons disease. She ordered further tests. And sure enough, “bull’s eye!”

The diagnosis of Addisons that had been so elusive to so many others for so long, was found by Dr. Faris.

My wife is gaining weight, strength and stamina. Her quality of life continues to improve immensely because of you.
Thank you Dr. Faris.

Dr. Farris, noticed something unusual in my endoscopy and sent my file to St. Mikes, which due to my berets turned out that they found a cancerous tumour in my throat. She went above and beyond to get me the treatment I needed that most likely saved my life. How do you thank someone for that? Glad she is my gastroenterologist

Terrible experience. You cannot ever get through to the office, she is abrupt and cold when you wait months to see her, she misdiagnosed me and after repeat colonoscopy and endoscopy she “ forgot” to tell me about my life altering diagnosis for over a year. It wasn’t until I went back again sicker than ever that she said “ oh I thought I told you”.
Definitely do not recommend this doctor, she also has so many patients you are just a number, she has no clue who you are even after multiple visits and scopes.

Dr Farris is a nice person, but makes you feel like she is rushing you out of her office. Her secretary is no nonsense type, which is fine, but is intimidating. Dr Farris likes one drug for gut issues, Budesonide. The side effects are a bit scary and when you say your not interested, she kind of just stops there. I am happy to leave her 'care' and go to a new Gastroenterologist. Wishing her the best though.

Dr Faris and her staff are one of many departments at Southlake Hospital that really do an amazing job. The professionalism and dedication is quite fresh to see. You don’t get to see it too often. It’s possibly because our Federal and Provincial governments don’t do enough for healthcare and waste money on useless elections that should be used for our healthcare.
