Dr Lewkowitz has been my Dr for 40 years. He diagnosed my Ulcerative Colitis 40 years ago when i had gone to several Doctors who couldn't find what was wrong with me and i was very ill and ended up at Osborn Scottsdale Hospital and they suggested i see Dr Lewkowitz and i have been with him ever since! I might add i have been in remission for many years and doing great! So if you want a great Dr, go no further!

If you don’t have a stomach ache when you arrive, you’ll leave with one. Don’t worry, there’s time to brace yourself (at least 45 minutes in the waiting room!) until the nurse, a grandmother-type with the demeanor of an inner city traffic cop, will whisk you to the office for a cross-examination.
“Where’s your list of medications? Didn’t they tell you to bring a list with you? EVERYONE KNOWS <insert your full name that only your mother uses when she’s mad> that you carry a list of medications that you’re taking in your purse with you wherever you go.”
Pause: is this 1912? One might think an established doctor’s office would keep patient records. Oh wait, they do! The nurse just didn’t want to get out the file that contained the information she wanted.
But enough about the appetizer, on to the main event! Dr. Lewkowitz failed to offer a physical exam for an internal physical ailment, failed to make eye contact (opting to shuffle around papers instead), failed to turn off his constant stream of phone alerts… ah, and failed to offer any sort of practical advice or insight. Turning to his close associate, Web (M.D.), Dr. Lewkowitz proposed I use the internet to better understand the diagnosis he made two years ago and then re-diagnosed (colitis to IBS.)

The takeaway? Skip the middle man. Web M.D. will offer you more personalized attention, save you the time fretting over insurance coverage, and help you avoid post-visit PTSD.

A friend ranted and raved about this doc. Said he is the very best in his field and she is probably right. Think he did a good job - I was just left clueless after the procedure; how it went, what they found or didn't find. I never saw him after the colonoscopy and wouldn't recognize him if I passed him on the street. The staff at Scottsdale outpatient, while nice, were uniformed and left me alone for hours. Think I was "lost" in their system because of the lunch hour and possibly a shift change. <shrug> Jotted it down as "life" but I will hesitate to have the procedure done again and certainly not with the same group of individuals. Probably would use the same dr - I'm still here after all!! lol

After endoscopy and colonoscopy did not take enough time to discuss any of the findings of small ulcer, hiatus hernia and questions with any correlation with symptoms. He simply prescribed medication. I feel that he should have taken more time to talk about PREVENTION and or continuous treatment to alleviate the symptoms and condition.

Very friendly, very helpful. Excellent listener. Takes time to answer any and all questions, then asks if you have any more questions. Explains his diagnosis in detail including sketching out drawings. Never waited a minute past my appointment time. His long-time staff is extremely nice, friendly and helpful. He is very casual and outgoing and makes you think you're talking to an old family friend instead of a doctor. He's very respectful of you and obviously care a great deal about your health and comfort.
